Hi everyone! Welcome back to Weekender with Wanda here on the Simon Says Stamp Blog! It’s the long Thanksgiving weekend and I hope you’ve been having a wonderful time with your friends and family! Are you still eating leftovers? We are at our house (gladly!) And, we’ve already shopped until we dropped. I love this time of year! Looking forward to the next few weeks as we get ready for Christmas to arrive.

Today’s post is a company spotlight feature on Clearly Besotted stamps. Their stamps are so clean and pretty and sweet. Beautiful images that bring a smile to your face. Today I want to talk about using all the stamps in the package….and also talk about seeing your stamps in a new way. I took some trees stamps and turned them sideways to make a greenery swag for part of my card. Take a look!

1 Clearly Besotted WWW card

I used two stamp sets to make this card and that is something I love to do – mix and match stamp sets. I found that the Tiny Trees Set and the Stitched Mittens Set made for a winning combination for a sweet Christmas card. I used one of the trees from the Tiny Trees set and turned it sideways and stamped it four times to make a greenery swag! Then I used the star and the tiny dot stamps to add bits of color around it. I love finding new ways to think of how to use my stamps.

I kept the color combination traditional red and green, but then popped it with a bit of icy winter blue on the mittens. I used pretty striped paper from Lawn Fawn to add just a bit of an accent on my red card base. The top layer of my card is cream cardstock instead of bright white.

I stamped my images and then cut them out using matching dies. Then I used foam tape to raise the pieces up off the card. I love the Lawn Fawn Cord as a string for the mittens! And, you’re probably learning how much I love Doodlebug Sprinkles Enamel Dots used as accents!

Here is a close up of my background stamping….and isn’t that sentiment banner so wonderful!

  1. I love mixing and matching my stamp sets too! Sure does make it more fun! Love the way you used the tree stamp. Great idea! TFS today.

  2. Such an adorable card. Love the mittens. Your background is really nice. Simple and doesn’t detract from the main image or sentiment. Nice design. TFS

  3. LOVE your cute card!! What a great idea using a tree stamp to make a swag. Im going to look through my stamps to see if I have one that will work so I can try it too:)

  4. I agree with you. It is very easy to neglect several stamps in a set. Sometimes I’m scared that if I take those itty-bitty stamps off the carrier sheet, they will bounce onto the floor…never to be found or seen again!!

  5. Wanda’s cards are always so cheery and original. I love her color combos. I also like they way she uses stamps in different ways.
