Mastering Floating Watercolor Birthday Balloons! Celestial Wishes Card Kit Idea by Kristina Werner

Hello, all! Kristina here! Today I have a fun card created with the Celestial Wishes stamp set included in the May 2024 Card Kit. There are lots of great images and greetings in the stamp set, but I was drawn to the solid circle image, which I think was intended to be a sun. Instead, I stamped the circle as balloons and then watercolored them!

I used Pawsitively Saturated inks for the balloons because the ink reacts with water. The inks are great for watercoloring! I used Taffy, Lemonade, Iris, Cadette, Tropic, and Sherbet–a great rainbow of colors!

To finish off the card, I created a custom color of glitter paste by mixing the Iris reinker with Fairy Dust Stencil Paste from Lawn Fawn. I spread the paste over the I Like Small Dots stencil.

Wow! So many pretty things in this release to make many beautiful cards!!!
What a creative idea, Kristina! Turning the solid circle image into balloons and water-coloring them is brilliant. The use of Pawsitively Saturated inks for watercoloring adds a beautiful touch, and the custom color glitter paste adds a nice sparkle. Can’t wait to see more of your card kit ideas!
