Tim Holtz Multi Medium Clipboard: Shari Carroll

Shari Carroll TH clip board

Oh how I love projects like this; it’s a little mix of everything which comes all together to form something I could display in my home or give away as a gift. There are a lot of little details that might be missed at first glance like the Crazing Medium on the photo or the hint of foil in the background or even just setting a metal frame on top of a photo. All these tiny things make a difference to me and complete the look I was going for. Using the clipboard as the base was just icing on the cake!

Adding touches like Picket Fence Crayon to the Quote Band makes the words stand out and gives the look of enamel. A slight touch of Brushed Pewter Distress paint on a paper frame finishes the edges of a Ornate die cut frame.

And lastly, customizing the colors of flowers to suit the style of your project are key to finalizing the look!

I have shot a full process video where I go into detail on some of the techniques used for this project. You can view it below or on our YouTube Channel HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy!

  1. This is amazing! I have had a clipboard lying around for a while, You have inspired me to work in it finally!

  2. I love your creation all together. I can’t wait to try your flower coloring technique. Did it take too long to dry the flowers using Ranger MMM? I usually use a glue gun to adhere my 3D flowers and it is always a mess. Just wondering if the MMM can do the same job without so much mess and injury (hot!).

  3. Such a lovely clip board – I have one of these kits that I have not put together – thanks for the inspiration – your clipboard is lovely Shari!

  4. This is so pretty and I good use of those clipboards that are hanging out
    in the closet.
    thanks for sharing.

  5. Wonderful project, Shari. As always, I love the artistic touches and the way you put collages together-an inspiration!

  6. Wow! What a fantastic project – I love it!!! Thanks so much for the video too – it’s wonderful!

  7. What a gorgeous project Shari! I love how the crackle worked on your photo. The quilling tool worked wonderfully on the rolled flowers. How fabulous of Tim to think of including it in the kit!

  8. I love seeing home decor projects–wish you were doing a class I could attend in person! On-line is great, but just not the same–at least for this old crafter! Gorgeous project with so many details but not what I call junky looking–love it!
