Tim Holtz Flip Frame!

Happy Saturday!!! I’ve got a mixed medium project for you today using the Tim Holtz Flip Frame. This is basically a collage on a tag… but upside down!

I started out with the #8 Manilla tags from Ranger where I folded the bottom about 1 1/2″ to fit inside the frame and to be durable for hanging.

I collaged some Tim Holtz Pocket Cards onto the tag using Multi Matte Medium. From there, I added my photo and embellishments.

To finish things off, I used a few of the Tim Holtz Heirloom Roses and Industrious Frames and Trims stickers.

I shot a video of the complete process. You can view it below or one our YouTube Channel.

  1. it’s so pretty Shari! I could see doing one per month, I’m pretty sure you have a photo for each month of that beautiful girly! :D

  2. What a great way to have multiple photos of your granddaughter on display. I’m sure she will enjoy looking through it when shes older.

  3. What a wonderful and fun way to display pictures of the grands! I think I’m going to have to try this. Mine aren’t babies any more but I can see a frame with a sports theme for little league and lacrosse! BTW Melody is a beautiful baby!

  4. I love the idea of the flip frame. And I love the idea of using tags to create mixed media pieces. This is a great example. TFS

  5. I bought a frame to make it for my mom’s 90th birthday I did not know where to star. Thanks for the idea. I need to make 6 tags so she can flip through it.

  6. Anything grunge, vintage, shabby chic together in the same breath as Tim Holtz…I’m there. It’s my kind of Art Deco.

  7. Shari, thanks so much for he wonderful inspiration you shared with us today. This would make a wonderful gift for someone.
