Throwback Thursday – Fabulous Projects You Might Have Missed!

Welcome to another edition of Throwback Thursday — a monthly trip back in time! Each month we’ll be spotlighting fantastic cards and projects using products from previous releases. The new stuff is always SO fun, but think about all of those great products you’ve collected and set aside. They are STILL AWESOME! And we want to inspire you with fantastic inspiration from our creative archives.

Chances are you’ve started thinking about your Christmas card designs, am I right? Our new holiday release Making Spirits Bright is filled with holiday inspiration, but you might remember some pretty spectacular products from last year’s Believe in the Season collection. In celebration, let’s take a look at four Christmas card ideas using product from our Believe in the Season release!

First up this project from Suzy Plantamura:

October Simon Says Stamp Throwback Thursday - Suzy Plantamura

Suzy created this gorgeous wreath using image stamps featured in the Christmas Essentials set and added her sentiment using our Believe stamp set and coordinating die. You can see Suzy’s original post about this festive, watercolor dream (plus all nine of her projects from the Believe in the Season collection) HERE.

Next, let’s throw it back to this colorful, geometric card from Laura Bassen:

October Simon Says Stamp Throwback Thursday - Laura Bassen

In true Laura Bassen-style, the holidays get a modern twist with these graphic Christmas trees and some ROYGBIV love. Laura used sixteen glorious Simon Says Stamp inks with the Color Me Trees stamp set. You can see Laura’s original post about this card and learn how she created it HERE. If you want to see Laura in action, don’t miss her YouTube video sharing her process for this card HERE.

And let’s not forget this inspiring project you might have missed from Caryn Davies:

October Simon Says Stamp Throwback Thursday - Caryn Davies

Cozy and rustic is the name of the game in this homey design from Caryn Davies. Caryn featured the Magical Christmas stamp set and dies with holiday-infused plaid patterned paper. That twine bow? All kinds of perfect. Visit Caryn’s original post HERE.

Our last Believe in the Season throwback project is from Barb Engler:

October Simon Says Stamp Throwback Thursday - Barb Engler

The Poinsettia stamp set looks absolutely STUNNING in wintry pinks paired with sequins and fresh greens. Barb used watercolor paper with white heat embossing and colored her images with Zig Clean Color Markers. You can check out Barb’s original post HERE for more information on how she created this incredibly lovely card.

  1. These are all so beautiful, I esp. love Barb’s poinsettia card, she did an amazing job on it. Just exquisite!

  2. i love throwback thursday but wish you did it once a week! of course its always great to showcase the new stuff but i love pulling out my old stamps and dies because of great new ideas:)

  3. I love these Throwback segments. Sometimes it remindes me why I bought a set, even if I never got around to using it.

  4. Thanks for reminding us of all the great products that we have in our stash! I already have the poinsettia stamp set pulled out and ready to use! :)

  5. Thanks for sharing. I wasn’t following the blog last season so these are new to me! Love the card with the plaid paper background.

  6. Barb’s poinsettia card might just be my Christmas card this year. I need something relatively flat and mail friendly and it’s stunning! Thanks for the reminder of these great cards!

  7. Perfect timing! I just pulled out my Christmas stash to look through and get some ideas for this year’s cards. These are very inspiring.

  8. These cards are gorgeous–and of course the rainbow colors always give Laura away! So lovely–and proves you can continue to use older stamps. I’m working on my Christmas cards now, it’s a long project, as I make 75 of the same design. Assembly line style.

  9. Love this idea. We bought our things because we love them and we have to be reminded to pull them out and remember how cool they are.. Thank you

  10. All of the cards are just beautiful and stunning, makes me ready for Christmas!! This year is especially blessed for us as we are expecting our first grandchild, a girl, on December 21st so it’s going to be an exciting December for us :) !! We are over the moon! Thanks for sharing and inspiring us everyday!

  11. This is a great feature as one of these cards I had not seen before! The other three I had but it was so lovely to be reminded of these ladies projects – they are all so talented.
