Throwback Thursday – Fabulous Projects You Might Have Missed!
Welcome to another edition of Throwback Thursday — a trip back in time! For each throwback, we’ll be spotlighting fantastic cards and projects using products from previous releases. The new stuff is always SO fun, but think about all of those great products you’ve collected and set aside. They are STILL AWESOME! And we want to inspire you with fantastic inspiration from our creative archives.
With Memorial Day right around the corner, we are gearing up for lots of summer fun! Hooray! Our Sending Sunshine release includes lots of wonderful products to celebrate summer (and all of the seasons!), but you might remember some pretty spectacular products from last year’s Cherished collection. In celebration, let’s take a look at some glorious cards created with goodies from our Cherished release!
First up this project from Ankita Gupta:
Ankita’s stunning summer floral card features the pretty Summer Flowers stamp set from our Cherished release. Ankita quips, “This card took a lot of time, but I am happy with the way it turned out.” We are happy that you created such beauty, Ankita! You can see Ankita’s original post HERE.
Next, let’s throw it back to this colorful card from Heather Hoffman:
Using the Rebecca Lace background stamp from our Cherished release, Heather created this pretty design. In her original blog post which you can see HERE, Heather created two lovely cards with this stamp using a watercolor technique with distress inks.
And let’s not forget this inspiring project from Gayatri Murali:
Like Ankita, Gayatri used the Summer Flowers stamp set, and look how amazing those flowers look in colors that perfectly match the plaid patterned paper. SO gorgeous and what a fun summery vibe. The sentiment from the Thoughtful Messages stamp set also from the Cherished release is the perfect finishing touch. Visit Gayatri’s original post HERE.
Our last throwback project is this gorgeous and classic design from Lin Brandyberry:
Got a summer wedding you need to make a card for? Look no further for inspiration than this beautiful design from Lin! Dry embossing with the Heart Mandala stencil is the key to this design, and once she’d done that, she inked through the stencil with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. Isn’t it gorgeous? You can check Lin’s original blog post HERE.
Did you know that we have inspiration galleries on our website showcasing project ideas for all of our releases and card kits? It’s a veritable treasure-trove of terrific ideas just waiting to inspire you, and you are invited to share your projects, too! You can find all of the Simon release galleries HERE and galleries for our monthly card kits can be found HERE. Scroll through today, and maybe you’ll find one of YOUR projects linked there!
