Throwback Thursday – Fabulous Projects You Might Have Missed!

Throwback Thursday Simon Says Stamp

Welcome to another edition of Throwback Thursday — a trip back in time! For each throwback, we’ll be spotlighting fantastic cards and projects using products from previous releases. The new stuff is always SO fun, but think about all of those great products you’ve collected and set aside. They are STILL AWESOME! And we want to inspire you with fantastic inspiration from our creative archives.

We’re getting ready for another awesome release that debuts on December 1st—DieCember®!  You might remember some pretty spectacular products from last year’s DieCember® collection. Let’s get ready for a die-filled extravaganza by taking a look at some inspiring cards created with goodies from last year’s DieCember® release!

First up this pretty project from Anna Kossakovskaya:

Anna Kossakovskaya Simon Says Stamp November 18 Throwback Thursday Nested Talk Bubbles and Big Joy Snowflake dies Diecember®

Anna’s striking design in festive red is so much fun! By using one of the Nested Talk Bubbles dies, she created a lovely focal point with rustic twine and a sparkly snowflake die cut from gold glitter paper using the Big Joy Snowflake released last year. You can see Anna’s original post HERE, where she also shared an adorable card with pink penguins you’ll love, too!

Next, let’s throw it back to this eye-catching graphic design from Laura Bassen:

Laura Bassen Simon Says Stamp November 18 Throwback Thursday Happy HB die Diecember®

In true Laurafadora-style, Laura Bassen proves that sometimes simple is super KAPOW! The Happy HB die takes center stage positioned over a rainbow of cardstock strips. It doesn’t get any easier than that! You can find Laura’s original blog post HERE.

And let’s not forget this oh-so-adorable project from Bibi Cameron:

Bibi Cameron Simon Says Stamp November 18 Throwback Thursday Picture Book Unicorn, Oh Hello There, Holy Stars, Swirling Star Trail dies Diecember®

While not all of the products Bibi used for this whimsical design debuted during DieCember® last year, she incorporated lots of fun die cuts to create this card. Our Picture Book Unicorn (from our Love release) looks so cute with a rainbow mane, and the sparkly Holy Stars and Swirling Star Trail give lots of shimmer. She also used just the hello from our Oh Hello There die. Visit Bibi’s original post HERE.

Our last throwback project comes from Barb Engler:

Barb Engler Simon Says Stamp November 18 Throwback Thursday Evergreen Circle and Big Joy Snowflake dies and Stained Glass Greetings stamp set Diecember®

Barb credits this design as a CASE from the ever amazing Yoonsun Hur. I just love the serene feeling of this design featuring pretty snowflakes and the Evergreen Circle die. The sentiment from our Stained Glass Greetings stamp set is simply perfect. You can check out Barb’s original post on Instagram HERE.

Did you know that we have inspiration galleries on our website showcasing project ideas for all of our releases and card kits? It’s a veritable treasure-trove of terrific ideas just waiting to inspire you, and you are invited to share your projects, too! You can find all of the Simon release galleries HERE and galleries for our monthly card kits can be found HERE. Scroll through today, and maybe you’ll find one of YOUR projects linked there!

  1. I remember that Peace card – still beautiful! I must have missed that red card with the large word bubble – what a great way to use that die and I love the tone on tone. Also that is a really nice, bright and cheery unicorn card – the glitter takes it over the edge – too cute.

  2. That first card is absolutely stunning! I just love it. I missed seeing all of these cards. I am so glad you posted them!

  3. Love the creations! Barb’s Peace card is my favorite! It gave me a breathe of calm and peace as I looked at it. So lovely!

  4. Love the word bubble with the snowflake.
Makes a fun backdrop for it.
thanks for sharing so many great cards.
