The Adventures of Henry the Elf

projectlife121513

Hi bloggers! Happy Sunday to you! If you’re anything like millions of families around the world you may just own an Elf on the Shelf. This sweet tradition started with the intent of keeping those kiddos that are so excited for Christmas very well behaved over the holiday season by reminding them that this elf works for Santa and will be reporting back!

Kristina Proffitt does another amazing job of showing how gorgeous and fun making Project Life albums can be by showing us a couple years of fun & Elf on a Shelf in her home over the holidays! Since it is Die-Cember™, I’d also like to point out how fun it is to incorporate die cuts into your pages as well. Notice the “Be“, Petite Tree, & Life Bubble? They really make the pages POP even more!

Anyhow, enjoy!

Designer Notes:

When it comes to mini albums I like to keep it simple from the beginning. Start off having all of the photos you want to put in the mini album already printed out – whether you do it at home or somewhere else. Sizing them all 4×6 is perfect for these great mini albums because then you can either stick them into the 4×6 slots or trim them down (or cut them in half) for the 3×4 slots. I love to stick my photos all in first and then go back and add some blank journaling cards and filler cards where I want them. Then lastly I go back and add the journaling and then just embellish here and there. Having a coordinating kit like the Merry & Bright Project Life® kit is perfect because you don’t have to spend a lot of time going back and forth trying to coordinate everything.

Blog Candy Alert!! Follow our blog via email and comment on this post for a chance to win a special blog candy!

  1. Beautiful and well maintained album! Im sure the kids will be so curious and excited to learn about Henry. I am!

  2. I love that little Elf. We discovered the elf on the shelf just a couple of years before my daughter got too old to believe in Santa :(. So we didn’t get to do as many fun things with it. Ours is a girl elf called Ellie. We still bring her out though and have her sit on our mantel.

  3. This post makes me want an elf around here to keep things interesting before the holidays!

  4. How sweet this album is. I love seeing the joy families have with these sweet elves, but its also another thing that makes me feel sad(ish) that my children are all grown up.

  5. Your title made me laugh before I even got to the post. Elf on the shelf must be an American thing cos I have never heard of it but it could be very exportable. What a fun idea.

  6. Great album! How I wish I’d thought of having an elf on a shelf to report back to Santa.

  7. I have a pocket album ready to use, just need time to print the photos and get them in! Great inspiration, thanks.
