Hi bloggers! Happy STAMPtember® Saturday to you! I’m so pleased to bring you another GORGEOUS card idea from the fabulous and talented Kelly Rasmussen! You may notice I gush about Fall a lot & it’s probably because I’m a born & raised “Mid-western” girl and I just LOVE this season! The colors in this card embrace the season!

Enjoy!

Hi there! I’m thrilled to be here today to help celebrate the amazing STAMPtember event! I’ve created a card that features some of the awesome new stamps from the BasicGrey Persimmon collection — a must have for all your fall projects!

I started out by stamping the Simple Leaf Background with a gradient of fall ink colors. The Hero Arts Pumpkin Pie, Just Rust and Orange Soda are perfect matches to the Persimmon collection and blend nicely next to each other. Then I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen to go over each leaf to add a touch of shine.

Next I stamped my sentiment onto watercolor paper with Memento Luxe Nautical Blue ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used Distress Markers and a water brush to color in the image. And since I heat embossed the image it was very easy to stay in the lines — the embossing traps your color and doesn’t allow it to bleed over into unwanted areas.

Next, I trimmed out my sentiment and a banner shape from a piece of Simon Says Stamp Birch Wood Veneer Paper. To create the blue piece, I inked up a piece of cardstock with Hero Arts Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. I don’t always have the right colors of cardstock on hand, so this is a great way to create your own matching cardstock!

And finally I tied a bow with May Arts twine around the panel and then mounted it to a top folding cream card base with foam adhesive. And for the finishing touch I added a scattering of Hero Arts Orange Metallic Decor!

  1. You know I don’t normally think about using navy blue on my autumn cards and this looks beautiful…definitely adding blue to my next fall card!

  2. The background of this card is amazing! I also really like the colors. The combo is different, but works so well.

  3. very nice! It really does remind me of the cozy season of fall – Soups, sweaters, pumpkin pies and falling leaves! TFS
