Hello and welcome to day 3 of Summer School!

Today we’re sharing a card created by Nichol Magouirk using lots of products from the new Teacher’s Pet release! This card would be great for men and women teachers and features some awesome products and techniques!

The black embossing paste over the black cardstock is perfect for some great texture without being too obvious. And like yesterday’s card by Shari, Nichol chose to have the the Teacher die-cut be the punch of color on the card.

The layered tags and mix of stars on the background, pull this card together and make it that much more special! Those little details don’t seem like a lot, but they really make the card!

To see how Nichol created her card, you can watch the video below.

Summer School wouldn’t be complete without the chance to win some crafty school supplies, right!?

  1. We always went back the day after Labor Day. Our local schools do the same, but my volunteering doesn’t start until early October. What teacher wouldn’t love an appreciative card like this? Really sweet.

  2. Loving the card you designed, Nichol! When I was going to school we always started back the week after labor day weekend and would get out the 1st week in June. I am a retired school teacher and things changed along and along in our system. When I retired, we were starting back in mid-August but were through by mid-May.

  3. A lovely card and a wonderful give away! I would love, love love to try some Simon Says ink pads. I’m looking to buy ink pads and I just don’t know which ones I would like. Love The kids, you rock stamps and dies. I remember I aways went back to shcool the day after Labour Day! I remember I used to be so excited packing my bookbag the night before with all the new supplies. Not like today of course but back then I got excited over new colored pencils and pens.

  4. My goodness, that is sooo effective. I have black card and black embossing paste in my stash, so off to play! Thanks for the idea.

  5. Year-round school for elementary kids started July 28th. The middle school and high schools start the end of August.

  6. MY kids have graduated from college but always started right after Labor Day.Thanls for the awesome inspiration!

  7. Great card and I love the embossing. Well I’m not located in the US so our school breaks are different. Our month long break is over but we will be having a 1 week break right around first week of Sept with the next longer break around 2nd week of Nov right up to the New Year.

  8. My kids have another school calendar, but I always remember her joy to see her friends again.
Beautiful card, thanks for the ideas

  9. my 6 yr old already started school last july. he was so excited to start 1st grade. love the black on black on the card. i hope i get picked!

  10. Love how you left the “innies” in the word, teacher. My grandkids go back to school the day after Labor day.

  11. In Australia our kids are in the middle of term 3 ( we have 4 terms with 2 weeks holidays in between and 5-6weeks holiday starting just before Christmas and continuing over the summer holidays in January). Very different to the US. I love the idea of spoiling out teachers. They deserve it.

  12. My son will be a 5th-grader & goes back on August 11. We are bummed to see summer end but are hoping for a great new school year. Would love to win your prize packet.

  13. Don’t have kids yet but my husband is a teacher and he goes back to school the day after labor day. Though, pre-season coaching starts in a week and a half! Eeck!! Summer is almost over for him!

  14. Hello here in France school starts in September i have 2 kids (6 and 8) and totally in love with those Colors. thanks for this chance!

  15. No kids left at home! I always went back the Tuesday after Labor Day, but here in Maine, my kids started the Wednesday before.

  16. Kids go back the 25 th! I have two in this year. Annastasia in 3rd and George jr in kindergarten. They both love school and I love that. My little guy will be in pre-preschool

  17. Great card with lots of detail! We didn’t go back to school until after Labor Day. My grandchildren started back today! The vacations are getting shorter and shorter. Love that giveaway with those bright primary colors!!

  18. Both my children now 2nd and 4th are returning to school on August 13. It bitter sweet for me. Oh but these kids are ready!!!

  19. My babies are grown now, but I do have a beautiful granddaughter. She excited to go school shopping. She starts the day after Labor Day.

  20. No kids at home any more. I live in Illinois now but I grew up in upstate New York and we went back to school after Labor Day and got out of school in mid June.

  21. Fabulous card! I always love Nichol’s creations. My kids are grown, but I teach & our students go back Sept 2.

  22. Amazing card – love the detail and love that it could be for a female or male teacher!! My kids are grown up and gone :( so I have to say that when I went to school, we started after Labor Day. The best part was we always got a new sweater, new outfit and sometimes a new lunch pail.

  23. Love the black embossing paste on the black cardstock with the pop of white and red. Such a classic combination. My youngest starts his senior year of college classes on August 25.
