Hello and welcome to day 3 of Summer School!

Today we’re sharing a card created by Nichol Magouirk using lots of products from the new Teacher’s Pet release! This card would be great for men and women teachers and features some awesome products and techniques!

The black embossing paste over the black cardstock is perfect for some great texture without being too obvious. And like yesterday’s card by Shari, Nichol chose to have the the Teacher die-cut be the punch of color on the card.

The layered tags and mix of stars on the background, pull this card together and make it that much more special! Those little details don’t seem like a lot, but they really make the card!

To see how Nichol created her card, you can watch the video below.

Summer School wouldn’t be complete without the chance to win some crafty school supplies, right!?

  1. Ooh love the black on black. In Norway the kids will be going back to school in a couple of weeks time. When I was a small in the UK it’s the first week in september.

  2. Hard to recall… I think it was before Labor Day, so lots of kids missed a few days over the holiday week. My grandkids are in year-round school, which is very different for me, but it does offer time off during the year, which is nice. Love the card- the tag is detailed and eye-catching!

  3. Love the black embossing paste on black card stock! Fabulous card! We start back after Labor Day so we have a few more weeks of summer to enjoy!

  4. Something new I have to try, black paste. We always went back to school right after Labor day. I always thought that was an appropriate name for that holiday.

  5. After Labor Day which to me has always represented the ending of summer. I have to say I love the look of the black embossing on black cardstock. I am going to color some of my white embossing paste to use with my other colors of cardstock. Very striking! Thanks for the opportunity to win a prize!

  6. I love the black embossing paste on the black cardstock. When I was a kid, we NEVER went back to school before Labor Day! Now I am a teacher in a Chicago suburb, and we are heading back next Wednesday (August 13th). Help!

  13. I had band camp every summer 2 weeks before school started so for me the idea of a new school year came into mind at the end of July… What a wonderful time in our lives when we had no care in the world.. All I knew was I was free to do whatever I wanted for two whole months!:)

  14. the black on black is so unique.
My guys start on August 18th. We’re scrambling to get ready :)

  15. Back in the day, we went back to school the Wednesday after Labor Day. Our town had a fair the last week of August up until Labor Day. When that ended, everyone knew it was time to head back to school.

  23. Black embossing paste…. love! As a child school started in late August. Here in Virginia, we have the after-labor-day law now, so my grandkids have a little more time.
