Summer School with Laura Bassen
Hello and welcome to another day of summer school! Can you believe that we’re already at day 4?!
Today’s teacher is the super talented and funny Laura Bassen! Laura is using the new Lunchbox Notes stamps and dies from the Teacher’s Pet release to create adorable little cards to include in her kids lunches this year! ;)
Rather than just creating flat panel cards, Laura made small, top-folding white cards and then adhered the diecut scalloped square over top. I love the bright colors of cardstock she used for for all of her cards and the great way she embellished each one with different elements from the stamp set. She even made a mini little shaker card! ;)
To make the fun designs stand out even more on her card, Laura used foam adhesive on the focal areas to pop them off the front of her card. Such a great way to add more dimension to these adorable little cards!
To see how Laura created her card, you can watch the video below.
Summer School wouldn’t be complete without the chance to win some crafty school supplies, right!?

How cute are these!!!! That little shaker one is adorable!!!
I was an overachiever in school. I loved all the subjects–except history. Now I love it, too. I hated going to school and managed to miss about one day a week in high school, but I liked the studying part. Go figure. I ended up with a degree in science with a minor in Bible. Never thought I had any artsy-crafty skills at all, so at 60-something I’m enjoying using that side of my brain!
I loved math so much that I spent a lifetime teaching it! These are wonderful, fun-filled cards. Love the video of your kids enjoying them. You must have a blast every day.
Math was my favorite subject in school until I had Calculus.
Lovely! A nice little detail to our kids!
Ooh, baby, would I love to get my hands on the prize! Anyways, I always loved Biology/science in school. English, too.
I loved science and literature, still do!

“You haven’t lived until you’ve made a mini shaker card.” Ha! Laura’s videos are the best!! My favorite subject in school hoop was band. I loved band!! I love this set. Totally pining for it.
I have loved to read since I first learned how. When I was 7 years old, I decided I wanted to be a teacher and teach kids how to read and learn to love it as much as I did. I was blessed to do just that – first in classrooms then as a reading specialist for my county helping teachers learn to refine their teaching skills.
I always love Laura’s videos! So cute!
I always loved history and PoliSci classes when I was in high school and college.
Math and geography were my favorite subjects in school.

What an amazing giveaway. Art was my favourite class in high school but in university I loved classes on the studies of fairytales and folklore as well as media studies.
Math was my favorite. Something about how orderly it was…and I loved knowing that there was one right answer.
Such fun, happy cards…and so quick and easy!
My favourite class was english lit. Least favourites were math and chemistry!
I loved reading and English, numbers are not my thing! Could you do a video on how to toss pizza dough?? Your son has some serious skills!
Adorable! So cute! In school I loved art. Still do. :)
I struggled with Geometry the most in the beginning of that class… But by the end of the year, I LOVED it!
I remember one particular lesson on April Fools Day – he was unusually very serious that day. And then he got started right away with the lesson (so unusual) and he continued on.. Then got us with a blue circle and a line drawn in it – “cord on blue” (cordon bleu was his favorite dish). We were so thrown off by his solemn nature that day that we didn’t catch on right away. He got us good!!! Miss him! He was the best teacher! :)
Laura’s videos are such a pleasure to watch. She rocks! My favorite subject at school was music. BUT I was not able to have an instrument or lessons, but I just loved learning about famous composers and hearing live orchestra.
I liked English the most, but really just loved learning!
My favorite subject was Home Ec. Loved learning about nutrition, cooking and sewing!
