Summer Garden Blog Hop!
Hello and welcome to a blog hop to celebrate the newest Simon Says Stamp & Mama Elephant collaboration – a stamp and die set called Summer Garden!
The Summer Garden stamp set is full of beautiful floral and leaf images that can be stamped and colored with pencils and markers, or even paper-pieced. The sentiments in the set go with the flowers perfectly and add beauty and elegance to any card.
I created a card that uses almost all of the images from the set to create a floral bouquet. See below the card for a little more information on how I created it. ;)
To create the flowers on the card, I first created a multi-colored, watercolor background using Tim Holtz Distress Ink and watercolor paper. Once the ink was dry, I stamped the images on top with black ink from Simon Says Stamp and then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I arranged them onto the front of the card and once I was happy with their placement, I adhered them all down with glossy accents.
I used a Viva Decor Graphite Paper Pen to add some detail to the center of the flowers and also added some silver Wink of Luna to the bottom area of the yellow sprigs. I completed the card with one of the sentiments from the set and added a strip of black cardstock along the top and bottom of the focal area.
