Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: MISTI May-nia

His & Her Grad Gift Cards_3

Good morning and happy Monday everyone! It’s Nina-Marie back again for a brand new Studio Monday and today I’ll be featuring some of our newest Simon stamps and dies in these cute, graduation gift card holders!

studio monday_banner(1) With graduations for college and high school students right around the corner, I thought this would be a perfect theme for this week; these gift card holders are super easy to make and do not require any special supplies or techniques. All you will need is a piece of 8″ by 4 1/4” cardstock, and a scoring board and bone folder (or other scoring tool); easy peasy right??

instagram(1)Also, did you know that this month is MISTI-Maynia???? Every single day during the month of May, My Sweet Petunia (the creators of MISTI), are giving away a free Mini MISTI and the Simon blog is today’s giveaway host! I mean like, how cool is that??? To be eligible to win a Mini MISTI, make sure you leave a comment on this blog post!

His & Her Grad Gift Cards_2

Okay, so back to our cards for today! I created both a masculine and a feminine version of these gift cards to inspire you with a couple of ideas at how you can decorate your gift cards for the graduates in your life. For the masculine version, I used the brand new Painted Grad die and Father’s Day Finds stamps and dies. Don’t those swanky-looking tags look so trendy???

His & Her Grad Gift Cards_4 For the feminine card, I used the Wild Beauty stamp set and the Painted Grad die; I love how the simplistic and doodled look of the Wild Beauty stamps matched so well with the Painted Grad die.

To see how I created these cards – with the help of my MISTI – be sure to check out the video below! If you enjoy, please give the video a big “thumbs up” and subscribe to our Youtube channel for more weekly inspiration and creativity!

  1. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GRAD CARD AND CAN’T WAIT TO MAKE IT. WISH I HAD A MINI MISTI TO HELP ME!

  2. I really like your idea of piling up the word dies so that they are thicker. When put next to a stamped sentiment, it really make the die word stand out. I will definitely try this idea, as well as trying the new clear embossing ink. Both cards are not overly fussy, but very cute.

  3. Love these cards! Such fantastic colors! Love the video too! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win a Mini MISTI!

  4. Your cards are awesome. I need to make a grad card for my grandson and this gives me ideas. I love the bright colors. Thank you for the chance to win.

  5. Love your cards! Thanks for demonstrating how to use the MISTI. Thanks so much for the chance to win one.

  6. Wow!! I would love to win this little MISTI!! And what a beautiful card too! Thanks for the chance!

  7. Love the Grad cards, very colorfully, which most of the time they are black and white so I love that you added color to your cards! Love SSS! And I love the Misti and My Sweet Petunia. Thanks for a chance a to win.

  8. Great colors Nina. I love this idea. I have two so far coming up. I think I might incorporate their school colors. Thanks for sharing. I still do have a Misti on my mind!

  9. Very cute grad cards–I need to make a couple myself! I love the Misti–have the original one, would love to win the mini!

  12. Love the idea of creating a combined greeting card/gift card. These are real cute! Thanks too for the great video showing the use of the Misti during your process. Lots of great tips there.

  13. Congrats to all the winners!
    These cards are so neat
    looking and would be fun

  15. I resisted buying the misti but it absolutely the best tool ever. The chance to win a mini…so cool!

  16. Both grad cards are great. Love your colors and love the floral you created. The Painted Grad die looks perfect. The reason for the card.

  17. Lovely grad cards. Loved seeing how the Misti was used in creating the card. How wonderful it would be to own one. It would make things so much easier when stamping. I like the idea of being able to restamp when the imagine doesn’t turn out which happens to me. Thank you so much for the chance to win.
