Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Quilled Mini Gift Boxes
Hello creative friends, it’s Nina-Marie here with you today!
Have you ever tried paper quilling? This is a super fun, yet simple papercrafting technique that will make receipients of these darling gift boxes say, “How did you do this?”! With a bit of paper twisting, a dab of glue, a few pinches (and maybe some embellishments!), you can make quilled paper creations of almost any sort.
Once you make your quilled paper art, you can adhere them to just about anything! I love making handmade gifts; for today’s project I am adhereing mine to boxes made with Lawn Fawn’s Tiny Gift Box die. These darling little boxes are perfect for holding small presents, especially at Christmastime!

The quilled tree looks really good on the top of a box. I have never known what to put them on. Cards would seem to be too fat for sending through the mail. So a box is just right.

I haven’t seen paper quilling in years! I learned to do it on a hat pin, think the quilling tool would be much easier to work with.

How fun to see a quilling project! I used to quill and I have the tool and paper strips, but when I got into card making I was afraid the quilling wouldn’t hold up in the mail. You’ve given me inspiration to pull out my supplies and reume this fun craft again. I love your box.
Several years ago I received a great little quilling set. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never used it! I thought it was going to be too difficult. Nina made it look pretty easy! I could make a Christmas tree! Thanks for the inspiration, Nina!
