Hi readers! TGIF! I’m always happy to be back with another creative uses post from the amazing Debby Hughes! Her creativity really does know no bounds!

Well hello! It’s Debby here with this month’s look at stretching those new supplies just that little bit further. It was a bonus month for me with so many gorgeous new STAMPtember products to delight the eyes but I’m always a sucker for cute critters so I zoned in on the Trick or Treat set.

Such a fabulous Halloween set, but Halloween is here and gone in a flash so what else can this set be used for? I was struck by the masked cat; with his cloak he is all set for trick or treating but peeking through a window (or perhaps out of a hole) then he becomes a bandit or burglar! I stamped him in Memento on some Neenah solar white card and coloured with Copics before trimming him out. I separated his tail so that I could raise that up a bit and get it to peek out the window die cut. The paws are actually from last years Halloween set where this cute kitty was peeking out of a pumpkin; again stamped, coloured and trimmed out. Once the window frame was in place in a panel of patterned paper it came down to what was this kitty going to be stealing? Cookies perhaps or how about a little bag? Hmmm, the pomegranate die from Sweet Fruits looks just like a little bag!

I was thinking of putting a $ sign on there but then when you get the die out of it’s packaging it is attached to the tiny heart from the set with those little metal nubs. Usually you get your tin snips out and separate all the dies from a set but as I opened the packaging and was faced with this little heart already perfectly placed then the kitty must be stealing someone’s heart! The die is cut from Neenah desert storm, a little Frayed Burlap distress inked around the edges, backed with some Lipstick Red card and then tied up with some May Arts twine :D The sentiment is made up of the You die cut along with some Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps.

Moving on to the other main image from the Trick or Treat set – the mummified pup. When I used the set for the first time a few people commented on how the puppy could be used for a get-well card. He reminded my sister of when her mischief-maker had got hold of a roll of toilet paper! So yes, lots of other uses for this puppy. For my card he’s stamped in Memento tuxedo black on Neenah solar white card and cut out with the matching die before colouring with Copics. Then he’s mounted onto a patterned paper panel stamped with the ‘Ruff day?’ from You are Pawesome and the ‘feel better soon!’ from More Sketchy Banner Greetings.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you will take a look at your holiday stamps to see if you can use them all year round too :D

  1. Debbie always has the most unique and wonderful ideas. Both of the cards are just great, you would never guess they are Halloween stamps (using my favorite Stamptember set too.)

  2. As a mult-user (need to have more than one use to justify the purchase). Now I’m going to get this halloween stamp & die set! Get well and Christmas for the pup and halloween and thievery for the cat! I’m sold! Thanks for sharing your creative ideas!

  3. The card with the cat peeking out of the window is just adorable. I love how the designer watercolored her night time background.

  4. What super cute cards, especially the cat peeking out the window. Thanks Debby for sharing you’re wonderful ideas.

  5. oh my gosh!! I didn’t think I could love this stamp set anymore than I already did!!! Just fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

  6. I loved the Trick or Treat stamp set at first (tunnel vision) sight. You have made me look at it in a different way and I have some new ideas for it. Thank you for sharing your creativity!

  7. This set is really wonderful and Debby has managed to use it differently like Jenifer Mcguire. You are full of ideas, girls!

  8. These are such great ideas. I also loved Jennifer ‘ s cards where she made the bandages into Christmas lights. All of these ideas made this stamp set a much more likely purchase for me, then when I was only thinking about Halloween cards.

  9. I just love this stamp set and matching dies! The card is too cute with the peeping kitty and the dog on the get well card would cheer anyone up!

  10. These adorable cards just blow me away with their cuteness! The kitty in the colorful window is adorable, but the little treat bag idea is pure genius! I’m in awe of how others see different uses for stamps and dies to stretch our imagination! Thanks for the inspiration Debby!
