Sparkly Cute Boo Notecard Set by Cheiron Brandon

Hi there crafty friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon here and I am thrilled to be sharing a fun Halloween project with you today using Tim Holtz products. I love to send Halloween cards to friends and thought it would be fun to create a girly, sparkly batch of cards using the new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Spooky Spirits stamps. Did you know that these stamps are the perfect size to pair with all of the elements in the Crazy Things stamp set which has so many cute little accessories including a bow and a jack o’lantern. I also stamped the jack o’lantern again over the ghost “hand”.  I am going to make 6 of these at once so I have Halloween cards to send out, but you can totally just create one!

To begin, I stamped one of the ghosts from the Spooky Spirits, bow and jack o’ lanterns onto Distress Watercolor cardstock using Versafine Clair Ink. You will want to use an ink that is permanent when dry since we are going to watercolor on it. Then I took more panels of Distress Watercolor cardstock and cut them to 3 ¾ x 5. I used the Sparkle stencil and added some Distress Sparkle paste through it using a palette knife, then set my panels aside to dry.

While the panels were drying, I colored the ghosts, bows and jack o’lanterns using Distress Watercolor pencils and a waterbrush and dried them with a heat tool. After that, I cut them out (no need to cut out the handles!).  Once everything was cut I assembled the ghosts with a bow and jack o’lantern. When the panels were dry, I blended some Distress Inks in Kitsch Flamingo and Saltwater Taffy. Then inside of a splat box, I sprayed over my panels with Distress Spritz in Kitsch Flamingo and Saltwater Taffy. This makes the panels super sparkly and shiny!

To complete the cards, I added the ghosts, sentiments that I stamped and embossed on black cardstock to the card panels before adhering them to the card bases. I hope you enjoyed this pink Halloween cards, I can’t wait to put them in the mail with some treats!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and thanks to Cheiron for being our guest!

  1. Way too cute to spook, Cheiron! Love these – can’t wait to try this. I need to work up to sprays……….I don’t like messes and I always make them. Thanks for this inspiration!

  2. Love your cards. I have the spritz sprays but never think to use them. Shame on me. Now, I’ll try them. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I love these cards… the pink is adorable and friendly. (I like the nice, cheerful and fun parts of Halloween,( but I do NOT like the horrific, scary, mean, and harmful part of Halloween). The little pink bows, sparkly pinky background, and the little Jack-o’latterns are just perfect.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity.

  4. These are fantastic, Cheiron. I love the Spooky Spirits set from TH but don’t really “do” Halloween. We don’t even put on our lights for Trick or Treat anymore because for YEARS we bought several types of candy and waited… and waited… and no one came! I’m pressed for time so I choose to make autumn or T’giving cards over Halloween cards. I love your treatment of these ghosts — superb work!
