So Many Sweet Birds! How to Assemble the Sweet Birds Set

Hello friends, it’s Nina-Marie Trapani here with you today! I am sharing a video showing how to use our Simon exclusive Sweet Birds stamp and die set to make darling feathered friends for your cards!

The Sweet Birds set is a building stamp set, which is different than a traditional layering stamp set. Instead of layering, the stamps puzzle-piece together to build the image; this allows you to get creative with the color choices you use because you don’t have to layer the colors.

For the stamping of these birds, I used our Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink. When I made cards from all of the birds, I used our Simon Says Stamp Birch Trees and Berries and Leaves stencils to make a background. I added sentiments from a couple of different stamp sets, including Beautiful Friend, Friend Greetings, XL Birthday Greetings, and XL Greetings 2.

We’ve also got a handy PDF download for you to print out and use as a color reference for your stamping!

  1. Dear Nina –
I loved this set as soon as I saw it but I did not order it b/c I thought it might be hard to use. Plus I already have beaucoup d’oiseaux (lots of birds). You have done an excellent job of winning me over. Question – and I rarely ask questions in these comments – What adj for the little plump bird did you use right around the 8:00 mark? You were starting on the last bird and you said something like “I’m going to stamp this little ___ bird …” I replayed the video at least 5x but could not figure it out. Please could you tell me? Now I am in suspense….
    Thanks.

    1. p.s. I just love the scenes you’ve created for the birds. I have these stencils and can do likewise. You’ve really helped me decide that I “need” these.

  2. How pretty and you made the stamping look so easy. I loved the cards you created with these birds and also the colors used. Thank you.
