Smoosh and Shine for One-of-a-Kind Backgrounds: EZ with CZ

Today I’m sharing a little twist on the ink smooshing technique by adding in a bit of shine! Ink smooshing is such a cool way to create unique backgrounds for your cards, and adding in a layer of shine via Splatter Medium is what I’m showing today.

I find this technique works best with monochromatic color ways, plus it takes the guesswork out of what colors go with what colors. I use a Gold Splatter Medium to add to my warm colors, and a Silver Splatter Medium for the cooler ones.

It’s so hard to photograph and truly show the shine on the cardstock, but all of the areas where the shine medium is placed adds a lovely shimmer.

Grab a trio of inks and something shiny and give this technique a try!
