Simple Watercolor Patterns with Masking Tape

Hello, all! Kristina Werner here. Today I have three fun watercolor patterns created with masking tape! These are simple patterns that you can create using any type of watercolor (you could also do ink blending over the masking tape, too!).

Before creating the patterns, there is a bit of prep work. As shown in the video below, you’ll need to cut masking tape into more narrow strips. I did this by lining up the tape on a grid mat and then using a ruler and craft knife.
Once you have narrow strips of tape, it’s easy to create the patterns and start painting! I used three different types of watercolor. I used the Paper Fashion watercolor set first, then FineTec Pearlescent watercolors, and then Karin Markers.

To finish off my cards, I used the You Are Loved die set, vellum, and three colors of glitter paper (Emerald, Black, and Copper).
Thanks for stopping by today! Happy crafting!
