Simon Says Stamp Ornate Background with Segment Dies
Happy Saturday everyone!! It’s Shari Carroll here bringing you some inspiration on this lovely day!
I’ve created a card using the Ornate Background Stamp along with the coordinating Ornate Background Segment Dies. Have you seen them? These dies cut out areas of the stamp image so you can lift them up with dimensional tape or tuck in messages into the openings. I’ve done both on this card.
I silver embossed the background onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock, then used my Mijello Mission paints to watercolor the entire panel. I used one of the dies to cut out the large flower portion then used some foam tape behind it then mounted the whole piece to a panel of Tonic Silver cardstock.
Next, I die cut Tonic Silver and Copper cardstocks using the Big Friend die set and tucked them just underneath a portion of the flower.
I’ve created a graphic for you to see where the segments cut into the background design. This might be helpful to determine where you will stamp onto your cardstock.

Wow – that is a fabulously ornate, free-flowing, very boho artsy background. I love how you have that more dimensional section, and the very luxe looking sentiment die cut. Very chic!
