Hi bloggers! TGIF! I’m so pleased to welcome back the fabulous Kelly Rasmussen to our blog as a guest designer today for some seriously beautiful inspiration. Doesn’t that green paper just POP off the page? It’s from the new 25th & Pine Collection from BasicGrey. I really love it paired with Gold Perfect Pearls.

Below you’ll find a few words about this gorgeous card from the designer.

Enjoy!

The holidays seem like the perfect time to add a little shine and bling to your cards. I used Ranger Gold Perfect Pearls with one of my favorite new holiday stamps from Hero Arts, Sending Love. I just stamped my message with VersaMark ink and then used a paintbrush to spread on the Perfect Pearls — the powder only sticks to the inked area and leaves you with a gorgeous gold shine on the message!

The patterned papers are from the BasicGrey 25th & Pine 6×6 Paper Pad and the strip to the left of the sentiment is one of the awesome vellum tape stickers from the same collection. The elegant decorative border at the bottom of the card was made using the Simon Says Stamp Bracket Die. And for the finishing touch I added a row of gold and clear sequins.

Thanks so much for reading today and thanks to Kelly for being our guest!

Blog Candy Alert!! Follow our blog via email and comment on this post for a chance to win a special blog candy!

  1. Gorgeous, LOVE the effect of Perfect Pearls! Fabulous LO on your card, especially the unexpected edge border :)

  2. Wow..I love the paper. The stitching is really cool under the die cut. The gold piece is awesome! Thanks for sharing!

  3. I don’t think I’d have ever thought to use those patterns together, but they work. I’m enjoying all the non-traditional cards I’m seeing this year.

  4. Lovely, lovely card–I can tell it would be even more gorgeous in person! Thanks for sharing your talent!

  5. Don’t forget to add a fine mist of water to the perfect pearls even if you used versamark. When it dries, the pearls can come off. Water activates the powdered adhesive within the pearls.

  6. I love how your blog features products and how to use them. Kelly’s use of Versamark ink and Perfect Pearls Gold actually shows me how to use the Pearls. Something I did not know. Thank you.
