Robot Love

Hi readers! Happy Saturday to you! I must say I look forward to this feature with Debby Hughes a lot each month, and hope you feel the same way! This is Debby’s opportunity to dazzle you with her creative brain, and she always does such a stunning job! On this card she pulls together different dies to make an utterly adorable robot. I think he’s in love… what do you think?

Enjoy!

Hi Debby here :D Today I thought I’d give some love to simple shape dies; you know all those rectangles, circles and such which are great for sentiments but can be neglected otherwise LOL. Cut from Neenah solar white and given a little Copic colouring they can quickly be the basis of a cute robot!

Most of the dies I used to create the robot are from the Greeting Block set. These are used for the head, body, arms and legs. The body is accented by cutting with the grill from the TV Shaker set and the antenna is also from that set. The feet are the arched window from the Home Building set and the clockwork key is one of the bows from the Decorated Branch set. All of these various parts were given a basic colouring with grey Copics – dark on the sides, working to lighter in the middle. I also coloured the three little hearts from the Combined Hearts set and coated them in glossy accents. A couple of wiggle eyes and a smile drawn with a Copic marker finished him off :D

The robot is mounted onto a Stitched Rectangle of patterned paper. I knew this was the perfect paper when the dots lined up between the grid LOL. I also stamped Talk Bubbles 2 in Sunshine, Surf Blue and Orange Peel, cut out with their matching die and foam mounted then finally everything is popped on a Lipstick Red card base :D

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you have fun with your basic shaped dies!
