Quick & Simple Holiday Tags!

Hi readers! Happy Thursday to you! It’s a WEEK before Christmas!! How did THAT happen?!?  We asked our pal Sarah Moerman for some inspiration and she delivered three delightful tags that we can enjoy and recreate!

Hi everyone,
I’m excited to be sharing some Christmas tags I made here on the Simon Says Stamp Blog! I was inspired by all the shaker cards I’ve been seeing lately and wanted to add this fun feature to some of the Christmas tags I’ll be using this year.
I started all three tags by die cutting some of the Stitched Rectangles Dies to make my frames.

For the Christmas Blessings tag I added a piece cut from a Hero Arts Acetate Notecard to the back of the frame, followed by strips of foam adhesive to completely cover the edging. I then added the sequins and a piece of Mint cardstock to the back. Finally, I die cut the Christmas Blessings die with Cotton Candy cardstock and adhered it to the acetate at the front of the tag.

For the Big Holiday Wishes tag I die cut  a piece of vellum using Gift Card Envelope Die, heat embossed the sentiment, and assembled the envelope. I then added sequins, sealed the top, and adhered the envelope to a piece of SSS Cotton Candy cardstock framed with one of my die cut frames.

Finally, for the ‘Tis the Season tag I adhered Mint cardstock to the back of one of my diecut frames. I then diecut 3 of the same ornament from Ornament Dies set using Cotton Candy cardstock, scoring all three down the middle. I covered the fronts of them with embossing ink and heat embossed them with WOW Strawberry Crush Embossing Glitter. I adhered my pieces together to form a 3D ornament  and attached it to my tag. Finally, I stamped my sentiment and added some sequins. (I know this one isn’t a shaker tag but it still has sequins). :)

I finished all three tags off by punching a small hole in each of them and adding some May Arts Natural Twine so they can be used as Christmas ornaments once they’ve served their gift-giving purpose.

Thanks so much for stopping by and a big thanks to Simon for having me!

  1. I love today’s shaker tags. I believe this is the first time that I have seen anyone do this. I love it!!

  2. I have diecember and I love it. The reason I got it : it was getiing so hard to get one Item I needed and it is so hard on other stuff too. Bu can’t go wrong ordering the Diecember kit! I also got the Shake it Up kit too. OMG there was a big roll of foam tape worth money. Christmas is just around the Corner.

  3. I am actually lifting these awesome ideas for cards. I wonder which adhesive Sarah used for the sentiment on top of the acetate? I am afraid anything will be visible!

  4. These are simply too beautiful to be gift tags… the presents inside may not live up to such a lovely presentation! :)
