Pigment Powders and Embossing Paste!

Hi everyone, welcome back to the blog! It’s Shari here with a quick technique for you.

I’ve been experimenting with adding iridescent pigment powders (Perfect Pearls) to some Viva Decor black modeling creme. From the front view, the paste looks normal and black.

But when it catches light, the colors come out. Below it looks like a teal green or almost purple, I can’t even describe it. But it’s super COOL!

  1. I have been using perfect pearls for several years because of the beautiful effect. I have not tried to mix it with paste yet. Will be doing this soon.

  5. My perfect Pearls have been “sleeping” for a while, thanks Shari for sharing this cool technique! I only have white embossing paste but I can make so many different colors with my PP, it’s exciting!

  8. Do not know why I never thought of using Perfect Pearls in my texture pastes as I put all sorts of other colourants. Love the idea so much that I am going to try it now. Shari, your card is outstanding. I would love to do something similar to that thank you for sharing…

  9. have added glitter before but never perfect pearl, which probably looks cool on transparent paste as well if you use a colored powder….must go try.thanks for sharing

  10. Thanks for this idea! I use paste a lot and hadn’t thought to use the Pearls in it. Love the black on gray, I am so going to give it a try!

  11. First of all, the card is chic and elegant and very pretty and the stencil is a must have. I do have a lot of Perfect Pearls and I will definitely be trying this method very soon. I always learn so many new things on your website and also from Jennifer McGuire.
