Painting with Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder

Hi all! Kristina here. :)

Today I have a fun card and video for you featuring the Look for the Miracles stamp set from the June card kit. Plus, I’m doing some Perfect Pearls painting.

Perfect Pearls already has a binder in the powder, so all you need is moisture to make it stick to your cardstock. I created a paint by adding water droplets to the powder and mixing it into a paint. It was super easy to paint it onto embossed images since the embossing resists the paint.

I hope you enjoy the video!

  12. Kristina, I love this card! I have never used Perfect Pearls but I have used Pearl-Ex for years and love it. Seals easily with a spritz of hair spray but does anyone know the difference between Perfect Pearls and Pearl-Ex??? I am pretty sure there must be some difference in the properties but I am curious and I can’t seem to find any comparisons.

    1. The main difference is that Perfect Pearls already has a binder in it that is activated when wet. So you can just mist a bit of water over it and it sets it–no need for hair spray or anything like that. Also, if you tried to paint with Pearl Ex by just adding water, it wouldn’t work. You’d have to add a binder to it as well.

  13. Absolutely gorgeous… I was going to buy some chalk markers for coloring onto black cardstock but you saved me some $$$. I happen to have multiple colors of Perfect Pearls. Can’t wait to try this! Thanks for the great tutorial!

  14. Love this project – painting with Pearls on black cardstock – super TFS never knew how to use these – so I might invest now – love getting inspiration here! Have a blessed week!

  15. Wow, love how that pops on the black. I have never used the perfect pearls…but now I would like to get some!!
