Hello friends! The color for the Tim Holtz Palette collection this month is Indigo. The collection features 10 beautiful fabrics with varying designs and color in the Indigo family. Indigo also goes well with the Blue Palette from last month so you can mix and match them together. Our project today is the Pepin Tote Bag by Noodlehead and it’s a great pattern for beginners or experienced sewers. It goes together fast and the instructions are easy to follow. There is an optional zipper closure and a couple of snaps if you want but they’re not necessary. The fabrics on the bag are the Tiny Print for the main fabric and Typography for the inside. The Tote will be great for work, in the car, shopping and it’s even big enough to hold 12” x 12” papers so it would be good for cropping with friends. So grab your favorite Palette fabric and start sewing.

1. Gather your supplies and fabric. Any of the Palette Indigo fabrics would be beautiful but I was in love with this Tiny Print.
2. Cut out your pieces using a rotary cutter and mat according to the instructions. It’s great that the pattern has the label to keep thing straight.
3. Create the exterior pocket, sew it to the exterior piece and add the snap if desired.
4. Sew the sides of the bag, cut the corners out and sew the box corners of the bag.
5. Sew the pocket on the inside lining.
6. Add the top piece to the lining.
7. Install a magnetic snap if you’d like a closure. You could also add a zipper if desired or leave it without a closure. Complete the lining.
8. Top stitch the handles 1/8” from the edge. I used blue thread to match my bag.
9. Add the handles to the exterior piece. Sew the exterior and lining together at the top edge. Don’t forget to leave an opening at the bottom. Turn right side out and sew the bottom closed.
10. Top stitch along the top edge 1/8” from the edge.
