Hi friends! Happy last day of 2019! I don’t know if you feel the same, but the year sure flew by for me! Too many special moments in 2019 to count, and I’m very grateful! I always am delighted in Suzy Plantamura‘s creativity in using a stamp set multiple ways for unique looks and this sweet edition is of no exception! Read on and enjoy!
Hi Friends! Today I have a “One Stamp, Five Ways” post to share with you using the new Pawsome Love stamp set from the latest Love You More release.
This card is very bright with an intense Fuchsia upper half. I used the new Nuvo Shimmer Powders and they can produce very intense color! I used Cherry Bomb for the top and Blue Blitz on the bottom. For the center of the card, I die-cut the Heart Banner Die from white cardstock and then used Nuvo White Stone Drops on the center of each heart. This is the first time I have tried those drops and they give a really cool matte stone texture look.
I stamped all of the images from the Pawsome Love stamp set with a light color of ink and then colored them in with colored pencils. For the dog, I used a white uniball gel pen over the black colored pencils for his spots. I added a pattern with a blue glitter pen and white dots on the two heart balloons with a white uniball. I stamped the sentiment with white embossing powder and added some more of the stone drops around the top of the card.
I created the background of this card using another new product for me – Nuvo Mica Mist in Beryl Swirl. I sprayed it on white cardstock and it produced this beautiful splotchy sheen that looks so pretty in real life. I die-cut the new Rainbow Heart Die out of the background piece and also out of white cardstock. I colored all of the rainbow pieces with Copic Markers and attached them inside the background.
I stamped all of the little critters in a light ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I used Nuvo Glitter drops over all of the hearts and dog collar. I used white and black Nuvo Drops for the critter eyeballs. I apply a small over in white and let it completely dry. Then I add a black drop over the bottom part of the white oval. I used Jewel Drops over all of the noses. I stamped the sentiment with teal embossing powder over the top of the heart and added some sparkling clear sequins.
I created the background for this card using Texture Paste colored with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and rubbed it over the SSS Tiny Dots Stencil. I didn’t cover the entire card front – just a portion of it to frame my stamped images. I die-cut the new You Are Loved Die from both white cardstock and Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock and layered them over the top of the card. I used Blushing Red Nuvo Drops over the little hearts and added dots around all of the letters.
Again, I stamped all of the images on white cardstock with a light color of ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I stamped an extra balloon from the cat/dog combo stamp and added that behind the kitty. I arranged the stamped images over the front of the card and used Nuvo drops to dress them up a bit and add some shine and texture. I stamped the sentiment from the set in the top right corner with black ink.
I made this card as a slim-line design. I started with a piece of 8.5” x 11” cardstock. I cut a piece off that was 7” wide and folded that at 3.5” for the card base. I cut off a ½” of the remaining piece so I had a piece that was 3.5” x 8.5” and used that for the card front. I sprayed Nuvo Pink Carnation Shimmer Spray over the top piece and added some flicks of white paint over it. I cut a ground piece out of watercolor paper and painted it with Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Atlantis Burst. I also splattered some of that color over the pink part. I layered them for the background.
I stamped all of the animals with black ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I wanted them to look more realistic this time, so I colored in strokes to look like fur and tried to keep the strokes going the way fur would grow. I stamped some extra balloons from the cat/dog combo stamp and colored them in as well to add behind some of the animals. I arranged them all over the card background.
I stamped the two sentiments with Ranger Garden Patina embossing powder. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the animals. I also added some Nuvo Dream Drops in Cloud 9 over the top of the ground piece just to add some texture and sheen.
This card is my “random stamping” card that I often make. I use my Misti to arrange the stamps like a puzzle. I stamped them all as usual – with a light color of ink and colored them all in with colored pencils. I also stamped the Luv You word stamps throughout the design and then just wrote over the ink with a colored pencil to match the rest of the coloring. I resisted the urge to dress them up with Nuvo Drops and kept them basic for this one!
I die-cut a small stitched square using the SSS Stitched Square Dies and Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. I wanted to add a border to the card without covering any of it up (or cutting any of it off) so I used the Lawn Fawn Just Stitching Rectangle die in the largest size. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment.
I think these 5 cards show a good variety of ways and techniques to use with this Pawsome Love stamp set. I now have 5 Valentine’s made, so I just need to find 5 people that I love enough to give one too – haha. Valentine’s Day cards are my second favorite card to make after Christmas cards as I can still throw in some glitter and glitz. Have a great New Year friends and I hope you are inspired to get as much use as possible out of your stamps each time you buy a new set! Thanks for visiting today! suzy
Thanks for stopping by and thanks so much to Suzy for being our guest!
