One Stamp, Five Ways: Easter Peeps

Hi friends! Happy Thursday! And happy leap day! We hope you are having a wonderful day! Easter is a bit early this year and right around the corner so this sweet inspiration by Suzy Plantamura showcasing our new Easter Peeps set is a welcome ray of sunshine! Be sure to read on for all the details and enjoy!

I have a “one stamp, five ways” post to share with you today using the Easter Peeps stamp set from the Splendor release. I picked this set because I adore Easter and Spring. I love all the little images in the set as well as all of the sentiments! And if you aren’t a fan of this holiday, I hope by the end of this post to get you a little excited for the time of chocolate bunnies.

I made the background of this card with the Mosaic Tulips Stencil. I applied Carnation and Peony Ink to the first stencil, Seafoam to the second, and Zest to the last. I die-cut four of the Easter Tag Dies from white cardstock and glued two together twice. I rubbed Seafoam Ink on one and Butter Ink on the other. I inked the two borders in the die set twice with Carnation Ink and attached them to the top of the eggs, trimming off the excess on the edges. I attached them to the top of the card with foam tape behind the aqua one.

I stamped the row of flowers in the Easter Peeps stamp set with Latte PS Ink. I colored two rows of them with colored pencils. When you die-cut out the flowers with the Easter Peeps Die, it cuts them into two strips, so I used the shorter strip on each egg and saved the others for another card. I also attached some small pink gems from the Rainbow Splash Gem Stickers. I stamped the two sentiments from the Easter Peeps stamp set. I love that the “Happy Easter” stamps/dies are in two separate pieces to you can use them in different ways. I used Peony PS Ink for the large sentiment and Surf for the small on a SSS Sentiment Label Die. I attached them to the bottom of the card. I added some twine bows to the top of each egg.

I die-cut the Gift Bag Die twice from Ranger Watercolor Paper. I applied water liberally to both and dropped in some pink, blue and yellow watercolors letting them spread around without overlapping as I didn’t want additional colors on it. I painted the handles blue. I put them together and tied a blue mesh bow to the handle. I stamped the row of peeps from the Easter Peeps stamp set with Latte PSInk and colored them in with Copics. I used a pink glitter pen for the faces. I die-cut them out and added them to the bottom. Perfect little gift for my grandkids!

I stamped ALL of the stamps in the Easter Peeps stamp set on this one layer card! I stamped the sentiments in PSInk colors and the images in Latte PSInk. I colored them in with Copics and used glitter pens for some details.

I die-cut this piece with a rounded corner rectangle die and attached to a pink card base. I added some Rainbow Splash gem stickers around the front of the card. This card was so simple to make if you like to color!

For the background of this card, I used the Hippity Hoppity Stencil. I applied PSInks over it moving downward with rainbow colors. I die-cut it out with the second largest rectangle in the SSS Basic Rectangle Dies. I attached it to a yellow card base. I stamped four of the grass pieces in the Lots of Luck stamp set with Sprout and Fairway PSInk and die-cut them out with the matching dies. I arranged them over the bottom of the card using foam tape behind three of them and tucking the fourth behind the center one.

I stamped a row of the eggs in the Easter Peeps stamp set with Latte Ink and colored them with colored pencils. When you die-cut them out, they die-cut out separately which I love as that gives you so many more ways you can use them! I arranged them behind the grass. I used the leftover flowers I had from my other card along the bottom of the grass. I die-cut a set of the Simple Flowers dies and applied Carnation Ink to the flowers and Butter Ink to the centers. I added them to the top of the grass in three places. I stamped the Happy Easter stamps with Surf Ink and arranged them on the top. This is why I love that the two words die-cut out separately. I added some Rainbow Splash Ink to the flower centers and around the sentiment.

If you like Neon, this card is for you! I just purchased the Karin DecoGel Milky Way Gel Pens and I wanted to try them out. I cut my strip of eggs apart (they lined up easily again, so I was able to use them as a strip on another card!). I stamped the four eggs (not the chick) all randomly over a piece of A2 sized white cardstock with Latte PSINk. I then colored them all in with the Gel Pens. They flow so easily, and it was really fun to color!

I die-cut this piece with the largest A2 Thin Frame Dies and attached it to a dark pink card base. I stamped the Happy Easter stamp again (it is the perfect font and so versatile) with Carnation Ink. I then used the pink gel pen to go over the ink so it matched the background. I die-cut it out and attached it with foam tape behind it to the bottom of the card. I stamped the sentiment strip that starts with “celebrate the day” on a SSS Sentiment Label Die and cut off just those words. I attached that below the other sentiment. I used the very Neon sequins in the Be Mine sequin mix around the sentiment. They match perfectly even though they didn’t photograph very well!

Who knew that a little 4×6” stamp set could be used in so many ways? This set offers lots of sentiments that can be used as is or cut apart, so they are in two rows. I love that the dies die-cut the Happy Easter and the row of eggs out separately so you can use them in different ways. If you are in the market for a cute Easter stamp set, this Easter Peeps one has lots of potential. I hope I inspired you to make some Easter cards! Thanks so much for visiting! –Suzy
