October 2014 Card Kit REVEAL!
Hi everyone! Today is the 14th, which means it’s time to reveal the newest Simon Says Stamp card kit, “Friendship Has Its Perks!” The October 2014 card kit is super fun with coffee themed sentiments and images that are sure to “perk” you up!
The October 2014 card kit includes: “What’s Brewing” stamp set and “Coffee Cup” die from Simon Says Stamp, Khaki Ink Pad from Simon Says Stamp, BasicGrey 6×6 patterned papers from the “Grand Bazaar” collection, Prima “Coffee Break” wood icons, Mocha colored sequins, and an assortment of coordinating cardstock.

To celebrate the card kit reveal, I have a card to share that uses the fun new Coffee Cup die and one of the great new sentiments from the What’s Brewing stamp set. I wanted the card to have a retro coffee diner feel to it, and I really think the Grand Bazaar pattern papers helped to achieve that!
I love the background patterned paper that I used on this card, but it was really overpowering to the focal point of the card. To mute it down a bit and make it work on the card, I simply covered it with a piece of vellum. I love that you still get the great pattern and color, but it doesn’t compete with the stamped panel on top.

Really cute card. I love that you used the busy paper behind the vellum to mute it. We all have certain paper that we find hard to use. This is a great idea. The coffee cup looks awesome on the front.
