Newton's Nook is ready for AUTUMN!

Hello! This is Jen from Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m super excited to share some sweet Fall themed kitty cards with you today using our new Autumn Newton Stamp Set! Fall is one of my favorite times of year to create cards for! I just LOVE all the gorgeous Fall color combos!

First up I have a lovely card featuring the image of not one, but TWO cute kitties playing in the Fall harvest! This sweet kitty image is part of our new Autumn Newton Stamp Set. I started out by stamping the image onto Neenah Solar White Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I colored the image using various copic markers. I made one kitty grey and the added brown stripes to the other one! Isn’t so cute how the one in back looks like he’s peeking around the cornstalk? After I was done coloring the image I trimmed it out with the coordinating Autumn Newton Die Set.

For the background of this card I started with a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper. I smooshed some Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink pads onto a piece of clear acetate, spritzed it with water, and then smooshed it over the Bristol paper to create the fun messy watercolor look. Then I took the tiny leaf images from the Autumn Newton Stamp Set and stamped them over the background in a random pattern so they looked like they were floating around in a breeze. I added “Fall breeze, Autumn leaves” sentiment over the top with Archival Jet Black Ink. I added my kitty image over the background with a piece of 3M Foam Tape. I added the whole panel to a kraft card base created from Neenah Desert Storm Paper and finished it off with some May Arts Natural Burlap Twine tied in a bow.

For the second card, I also used our Autumn Newton Stamp Set. I stamped the image of the kitty with a bushel of pumpkins and gourds onto Neenah Solar White Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored the image with various copic markers, adding some grey stripes to the kitty. Then I trimmed out the image with the coordinating Autumn Newton Die Set.

I created another fun background panel, this time using Distress Oxide Inks. I started with a piece of Neenah Solar White Paper and blended Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber to create an ombré Fall sky. Then I flicked some water over it to add a bit of texture. Once the panel was dry I stamped little leaves from the Autumn Newton Stamp Set over it using a Distress Oxide Walnut Stain Ink pad. I added a dotted wave to the bottom using the hill shape from the Land Borders Die Set. I layered this panel over a piece of Neenah Desert Storm Paper and stamped the “harvest blessings” sentiment from the Autumn Newton Stamp Set in the lower corner using Archival Jet Black ink.

To finish the card I added the kitty image on it with a piece of 3M Foam Tape and added some May Arts Natural Burlap Twine tied in a bow. The whole piece was mounted onto a card base created using Neenah Solar White Paper.

I hope these two Fall cards inspired you to get inky and create some Fall scenes of your own!
