Monthly Mail Art – October 2017

Hi all! Kristina here! I’m back with another Monthly Mail Art envelope and video. This month, I created a Halloween themed custom envelope. I used the Plushoween stamp set from Mama Elephant to create a cute scene along the bottom of the envelope.

Because I wanted to use Copic Markers on the scene, I created an envelope out of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card stock (a Copic-friendly paper) using the 1-2-3 Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers. You can make an envelope out of any kind of paper using this punch board.

Also because of my plan to color with Copics, I used Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. It’s an ink that works well with Copics.

I knew I wanted to have a banner stretching between the animals so that I could put Joanie’s name on it. So I first sketched the banner using a pencil and then went over the lines with a Memento Tuxedo Black Marker (this marker also works with Copics).

After coloring the scene with Copic Markers, I used the Large Dots Stencil to blend on some Pumice Stone Distress Ink, mostly on the top half of the envelope. Joanie’s address was added using an Extra Fine Pilot Envelope Addressing Pen.

NOTE: Address used with permission.

I hope you love today’s envelope! Thanks for stopping by. :)

  1. OMG Kristina this is ADORABLE, I love when you do your envelopes, this one has to be my favorite. I can’t imagine her expression on her face when she get’s this in the mail she is going to flip. You rock girl !!!

  2. Absolutely adorable Kristina! I think having it a little off to the left can be considered a good thing, where it will be stamped again at the post office, this way it shouldn’t interfere with your beautiful work! Beautifully done!

  3. Oh WOW this is so cool! I can just imagine the joy I would feel if I received an envelope like this in the mail! This is taking happy mail to the next level! Beautiful work, Kristina!

  4. Your coloring is always AWEmazing! And I think this is just the most special way to receive a hand made card, or anything similar. And those darling characters are precious.

  5. The post office has a terrible time
getting my mail to me. I’m afraid
    that, with cute embellishments on
the envelope – my mail would never
get where it is supposed to.
    Beautiful envelope
    thanks for sharing.

  6. I loved delivering envelopes like this. I had a few people on my route that did this, always made me smile.

  7. LOVE it!!! I am really enjoying the monthly mail art feature. I am completely obsessed with mail art right now. I think a decorated envelope adds so much to the surprise when you send a card.
