Monthly Mail Art with Kristina Werner – March 2018

Hello, all! Kristina Werner here with another Monthly Mail Art! For this month’s envelope, I thought I would create a scene using the cute dogs from Mama Elephant’s The Dog’s Woof stamp set.

Because I wanted to color the scene using Copic Markers, I opted to create my own custom envelope out of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock (I know this paper works well with Copics). I used the We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board to create the envelope.

I kept the coloring very simple by only doing flat, solid areas of color. Super easy and quick! And with such a large scene to color, fast coloring is appreciated. :)

I finished off the envelope with a bit of ink blending using the Grid stencil from Simon and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink. Christine’s mailing address was added using an extra fine Pilot Envelope Addressing Pen.

NOTE: Address used with permission.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the envelope.

  1. I love the idea of using Neenah cardstock to do Copic coloring and I love that you did very simple coloring at that and it turned out so awesome. I love this envelope!! All of your ideas for envelopes are so great! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!!

  2. Kristina, I just LOVE when you do the mail art, and this one, well I ADORE it, it goes on my favorite list!!! I wish I could give my address out, but I am being stalked, lol, just kidding, I am going to have to give you mine, I get your blog post delivered to my email so when this pop’s in my email I am signing up because every month when I see it I get so jealous, like this one, I am like ahhh, I wish someone would send me that, lol. I am the only one who does cards in my family, so THEY get the pretty handmade cards and envelopes but I never get any back, I get dollar store, just kidding, lol.

  3. Gorgeous envelope Kristina! I’d be so excited to receive mail from you-I’d not want to open the envelope because the outside is so wonderful–love all these pups!

  4. Love the envelope, and love Kristina’s monthly mail art feature! Who wouldn’t love to receive one of these beauties in the mail!

  5. BEAUTIFUL WORK, Kristina! You make me want to create a beautiful envelope for my next card! Thank you for all of the tips you’ve given us! I love it when you ladies give us the list of supplies at the end. I’ve added several things to my SSS cart from it! ;) SUPER JOB!!! ;)

  6. Absolutely fabulous, wish alp my bills came in envelopes like this instead of plain brown ones, might take the sting out of having to pay the ludicrous charges.

  7. Ohh I LOVE this! I have the bunny version of this stamp, so I’m definitely going to give this a go – thanks for the inspiration, always love to see the mail art projects :)

  8. That stamp is sooooo adorable! I love the idea of putting it on an envelope – talk about happy mail!
Thanks for sharing another brilliant project! xx

  9. So darn cute. You inspired me to do some envelope art, nothing like what you do but I stamped some images from the set I used to make the card, colored the, with water based markers, sealed the image and mailed. So many compliments! And that even included a 25 year old son which I didn’t expect would notice at all. Warmed my heart. It was fun to do and returned so many good thoughts to me. I’m a bit intimidated as I’m new to this so it really was extra special for me. Thank you for inspiring me.

  10. What a delightful envelope. Enjoyed watching you demonstrate the envelope maker as well as your card. tfs

  11. So beautiful, as always, Kristina. I really like the limited palette on the dogs; I think it would also look nice to use the same palette as what was on the card you’re sending too to connect the whole thing. I love seeing your ideas and art. Thanks for sharing!

  12. This is always amazing to watch and I am so inspired to try this myself. I like to stamp and emboss on my envelopes but I haven’t ever tried an actual ‘scene’. Maybe I’ll try something like that today. After all, if it doesn’t turn out, it IS only an envelope! LOL
    Beautiful job as always Kristina.
