Merry & Bright: Color Coordinates with Shari Carroll

Welcome to the blog everyone!! It’s Shari here with another Color Coordinates for you. This was a super fun combination to throw in the pink and blue along with traditional Christmas colors. I think it’s a fresh look for the Holidays.

I played around with the ClarityStamp Stencil Brushes to color the Tim Holtz Retro Ornament dies. I have to say… I felt like these were an exceptional way of coloring paper to achieve a blend from white to dark.

I stamped the Holiday Background onto a panel of Fog cardstock with Simon Says Stamp white ink which gave me just a hint of light toned messages and a subtle setting for the brightly colored ornaments.

I filmed the process of how this card was made which you can view below or on our YouTube channel HERE.

  1. That is just beautiful! I love the soft gray background – it makes a lovely backdrop for those beautifully shaded ornaments! I love the use of the non-traditional colours. This is a very inspiring project. I was also thinking this would be great with a bit of glimmer and shine on the ornaments too – maybe with the new Nuvo products?!

  2. Loving these retro colours everyone is using this year. I’m not keen on the glaring contrast of traditional bold red and green. Tho you do a nice job with it, softening it up with snow or distress Shari. These colours are so much friendlier and cozy.

  3. Fun card! I love how the colors blend with those brushes on the ornaments. The background is great too. Thanks for sharing the video!!

  4. I do love the color combo. I may have to try this one when I “hopefully” get all the stuff I ordered last week. I’m jonesing for some Christmas cards.

  5. Really beautiful card, I love the retro ornaments and your colour combination is fantastic! Thank you for a great video tutorial as well!
