We’re beyond thrilled to have the amazing Chari Moss on our blog today to share with us an adorable card she made using some new Lawn Fawn products! She even took a moment to jot down how to make it, and her inspiration behind the card.

I like to challenge myself to try and think of different ways to use holiday sets other than their obvious use. This is a great way to get more out of your holiday sets. I was inspired by the bear dressed as a bumble bee and designed a birthday card with a bee theme and a custom punny sentiment. The honeycomb paper from Dewey Decimal was the perfect thing to pair with my bee and Cole’s ABCs allowed me to create a bold custom sentiment. The matching Critters in Costume dies make cutting a perfect white border around the image a snap. I used my C-Thru T square to line up my letters. To keep them straight I taped them to my T square with washi tape, then applied the glue to the backs of the letters. This allowed me to adhere each line of letters down as one unit which helps with spacing as well. The banners in corner were cut with the new stitch journaling card die. The heart cut out is made using the Heart dies and the smaller red heart is cut with the heart border included in the stitched journaling card die set. I finished off the card by adding stickles accents to the bee’s wings, stripes and antennae and a little glossy accents to his nose.

Chari, that card is so cute. I’ve been playing with a hexagon patterned paper of that sort and didn’t know what to do but match it up with bees. Love what you’ve done here.
