Giving Thanks with Lawn Fawn
Hi friends! Happy Thursday! For our readers in the USA, we are one week away from Thanksgiving!! We thought we’d take a brief pause from the Christmas focused inspo to show this DARLING card that Chari Moss of Lawn Fawn made with this Autumn holiday in mind! Enjoy!
Hello crafty friends, today I have a festive fall card to share. All of the forest critters have gathered for a Friends-giving feast. This slimline card uses images from a few different sets, Den Sweet Den, Forest Feast and Jump for Joy. I created my autumn forest scene by blending the warm sky with wild honey, scattered straw and squeezed lemonade distress inks. The birch tress are cut from speckled eggs shell cardstock for a natural cream color which contrasts beautifully with the dark red tree canopies above. The canopies are created with distress watercolor cardstock cut with puffy cloud border dies. I then did some ink smooshing techniques with crackling campfire distress ink and added fired brick ink to the edges.
I stamped out all the critters with Jet Black ink and colored them with copic markers, using coordinating dies to cut them out. The large table, or tree stump, is stamped on Kraft cardstock with Walnut ink since it is a solid stamp. The Kraft cardstock created the look of wood without any coloring required. Finally I used the Thanks, Thanks, Thanks stamp set for the sentiment, white embossing the scripty thanks stamp on red cardstock then using the coordinating die to cut it out. The red ties into the red of the trees and creates a bold statement in the center of the card. All these little critters look like they are going to have a delicious meal and lots of good conversation. Thanks so much for joining me today!
