Hello friends, it’s Cheiron here and I am thrilled to be sharing a set of fun mono printed tags. I created these using the Halloween Sketchbook stamps from Tim Holtz along with the coordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp that cut all of the fun sketchbook shapes out perfectly. 

To begin, I stamped all of the images from the Halloween Sketchbook set using Versafine Clair Ink in Nocturne Black. Once the ink was dry, I die cut all the images using the coordinating dies. I took all of the images that I cut out and then colored them in with distress watercolor pencils. Once my images were colored I used a detailer water brush to blend the color out softly.

To create the tags, I used Distress Mixed Media Heavy Stock tags in the small #5 size. These are perfect size to tie onto treats for Halloween or even add to a card front.  I wanted to add some color to the tags, so I took out some of my mini-Halloween stencils to monoprint onto the tags. To do this I placed my stencil into a splat box and sprayed it with some Distress Spray Stain and a few sprays of water. Be sure to do this on the reverse side if your stencil has words on it! 

I picked the stencil up and then turned it over onto my tag and then placed a piece of scrap paper on top onto it to absorb the excess ink.  I repeated the process with two other colors and stencils. Once this was done, I inked the edges of the tags with black soot archival distress ink. I stamped the sentiments in Distress Oxides and then cut them out. I ink the edges of the sentiments and then placed the images and sentiments onto the tags with foam squares. To complete my tags, I tied a piece of ribbon through the top of each one.
