Hello, crafters, this is Yana Smakula for Simon Says Stamp! Welcome back for another Yippee For Yana video!

Today I’m creating with a new fabulous Taco ‘Bout It stamp set and making a card for my girl friend (although the sentiments in this set allow you to create a fun masculine card – mar-guy-rita!)

I stamped the margarita glass and limes onto Simon’s Mega Thick #130 cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next, I colored the liquid inside the glass using BG23 and BG11 Copic markers. I didn’t color the glass, although you can do so by using either very pale gray or blue markers. Since I’m not very good at coloring glass I just left mine white. I also colored limes using YG00, YG03, and YG17. These were super easy!

There are coordinating dies available for this stamp set, so I used mine to cut the images out in my Platinum 6 die-cutting and embossing machine.

To create a background I used colored cardstock. I have 2 cards, both very similar, but they feature backgrounds made in a different way. The easy way is to use 2 shades of cardstock, cut one diagonally and just adhere it to the other panel. The not-so-easy way, especially if you don’t have 2 shades of blue, is done with the help of ink blending. I also ink-blended a shadow for the glass, just for fun, and I have to say – it turned out amazing!

I embellished both cards with Simon’s new Starshine embellishments and called them done! Have fun creating!

Great cards, Yana!! I don’t think I would have the patience or skill to create that shadow but I love how you did it.
