Fall is my favorite season, the cool air, the colorful trees and the crunch of fallen leaves.  When I was younger my sister and I would jump into the pile of leaves we had raked up in the yard. That was my inspiration for this card.  Any one who follows me on Instagram knows that my husband and I have a miniature Dachshund named Penny so it just made since to have Penny jumping into a pile of leaves.

I used the Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather stamps and dies to cut out my trees and leaves.  To create the pile of leaves I stamped the group of leaves on Citrus Slice card stock ink Memento Morocco pigment ink then cut it out with the matching die.  After cutting it out I used the single leaf stamp to fill in the pile with Morocco, Love Letter and Dandelion pigment inks.  I colored the doxie from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Dog park with colored pencils blended with gamsol, I think this gives her a nice texture that is different from the background.  I used patterns from the Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather 6×6 petite paper pack to make a sweater for her.  I just stamped the dog on the pattern paper then hand drew in the edges and fussy cut the sweater pieces out.

Lawn Fawn stitched hillside borders and stitched rectangle stackables make it easy to create the background.  I used white pigment ink to add a few small clouds behind my trees and added a few single leaves to the trees. This is one happy doxie jumping into those fall leaves.

I wanted to use the same holiday die and stencil for an everyday look. By flipping the house on it’s side I was able to create interest for an everyday card. I love how the the house/arrow can be used for many different types of cards.
  • Stamp moose w/Memento ink.  Color w/Copics. Die cut or cut out.
  • Add Glossy Accents to antlers sprinkle on Flower Soft and pat down gently. Set aside to dry.
  • Die cut & color hearts.
  • Die cut house. Place stencil on top. Ink w/ Goldenlocks & Coral Reef.
  • Stamp sentiment on vellum. Let dry then wrap around card & tape on the back.
  • Assemble your card. Use foam tape to pop moose & one heart.

Hi there!! I’m so excited to be part of this STAMPtember celebration, hope you’re having a lot of fun!!

I have a fun Halloween card to share with you using some old and new Lawn Fawn stuff!

To create this card I started stamping the starry background with Versafine ink on Pool cardstock. Because it dries slow, I could heat emboss it with clear embossing powder to add some shine. Then I inked the edges with distress ink for more depth. I cut a piece of cardstock running it twice through my BigShot with the Large Journaling card so I have stitched top and bottom. Then I stamped “Happy” from Sweater Weather stamps.

Next, color a piece of cardstock creating an ombre look with yellow and orange Copics, place the Halloween letters (except from the O!) and you have some cool ombre words, I love this part! Hee hee! Cut the same letters from black cardstock and adhere them together. The next step is stamping, coloring and cutting the cute pumpkin from Spooktacular and arrange the words and pumpkin to create the word. I didn’t line them or anything because I was looking for a fun and messy look.

Finally, add some sparkle with the clear Wink of Stella pen all over the letters and pumpkin, tie some twine around the white panel and adhere it to the card base with foam adhesive. Yay! You’re done! :)

I hope you like my little project and thank you so much for joining me and all the amazing people of Simon Says Stamp today!
