EZ with CZ: Simple Brayer + Embossed Background

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! Please join me in welcoming back special guest Cathy Zielske in our monthly installment of EZ with CZ where we provide inspiration for crafters of all skill sets to try! Be sure to watch the video for more details and enjoy!

Hey friends! It’s Cathy Z. here with another installment of EZ with CZ! Today’s card features a fun way to add a colorful background to your card projects using some Distress Ink, a gel press and a brayer. While that might seem complicated, it’s really quite fast and fun!

I am really new to both brayers and gel presses and so I’m trying to learn more about them as I go. The upshot? It’s a cool way to add color to your card panels. Plus, I added some fun texture with one of the Simon Says Stamp 3D Embossing folders, which are also easy to use and add fun texture to an otherwise simple card design.

Here is my video showing you how I created my card project today.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and to Cathy for the fabulous inspiration!
This is a beautiful card! Love the colors and the design! I love using the gel press to create backgrounds for cards and it is very addictive! Beware! My T-square ruler is a much used tool in my stash as well! lol
Sooo Fun and Pretty!!!
Lovely card Cathy–I haven’t gotten a gel plate, I have so many crafty things to do that I haven’t used everything I have already. But it’s on the back burner for when I run out of stuff to do. Today’s task, re-organizing my work area to make it more efficient/functional and put away all the random things they got “auditioned” but never put away correctly.
This was a pretty card. Think based on what you and J.M. showed me about the gel press, that I will purchase one. I like the fun backgrounds they make and adding the texture was the “bomb”. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this helpful technique. Looking forward to trying it. Stay well.
Pretty card and easy enough to make. I think I could even do this! :>)
This is so cool … great colours
Amazing card. Love the colours and the tips. Thank you.
