Distress Oxide Blending & February 2019 Card Kit!

Hello all! Kristina here with some more inspiration for the February 2019 card kit! I thought some smooth blended color with images from the Love Always stamp set included in the kit would make a great Valentine’s Day (or general love) card!

I started out by ink blending three colors of Distress Oxide Ink: Spun Sugar, Abandoned Coral, and Aged Mahogany. After the ink blending was dry, I stamped the large greeting and heart images in VersaMark ink. White embossing powder was applied, the excess shaken off, and then heat set until melted.

To finish of the main area of the card, I wrapped some of the embroidery floss from the kit around the blended panel, and then adhered it to a card base using foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoy today’s inspiration! You can pick up the February 2019 card kit HERE, or subscribe to receive this kit and future kits HERE.

  1. I just got my first few Distress inks and I cannot wait to give them a try! Thank you for the wonderful inspiration!

  2. The Oxides look great. I only have one of them, and am trying not to buy a zillion because I have so many inks already. But I do like the look a lot. The hearts look great. Nice job.

  3. I love the pattern you created with the stamp Kristina. And your ink blending is perfect. I love your card. TFS

  4. The pinks are beautiful on the kraft background. I love the format of this card and think it would be so easy to change out the sentiment and the background hearts and create multiple and slightly different versions! Thanks Kristina!

  5. Beautiful – love the blending of those colors in particular and the placement of the images. I need white EP, that is for sure!

  6. Gorgeous card! I love the use of Aged Mahogany because I’m not a bright pink type of person! It looks great against the kraft card base!

  7. Such a lovely card that lets the heart patterning focus on that great sentiment. Thanks for sharing it and the video for viewing the step-by-step process.
