Welcome! It’s Shari Carroll here bring you the August 2019 edition of our Did You Know series.
If it’s your first time seeing this feature, each month we bring you fun facts, creative tips and even crafty hacks about your favorite supplies and brands; you can then use these awesome tips that you learn in your next crafting projects! Are you ready to learn some fun tricks? Keep on reading!
I’ve chosen a few of my favorite card making and painting products to share, plus some fun NEW tools!!
Tim Holtz Tonic LEFT HANDED TITANIUM SNIP Scissors
Yes!! I’m so thrilled that Tim is thinking of us lefties!! There are many tools that we have had to adjust to, scissors being one of them. These are a new item and there are two sizes available. The 7″ Snips, and the 5″ Mini Snips. Tim has even included “Lefty” on the base of the blades.
These snips have the same non-stick coating to minimize adhesive build-up and serrated blades as the regular Tim Holtz snips. I use mine to cut through foam tape and have never had them get sticky.
Suzy Plantamura Watercolor Cards
A new set of these exclusively designed cards comes out with every Simon Says Stamp release. Each themed pack comes with 12 designs printed on Tim Holtz Watercolor 4.25″x 5.5″ (A2) cards. You can color these cards with watercolors, watercolor brush pens, Copic markers, color pencils, and more. Whatever your favorite means of adding color to your projects, these cards can handle it.
These are great for “on the go” painting and creating.
To go with the Watercolor cards, I’ve also included Simon Says Stamp White A2 Side Fold and A2 Top fold pre-scored cards. Once you’ve colored your cards, you can adhere them to these 120# notecards.
American Crafts Paper Fashion METALLICS Watercolors Set
Do you like metallics? I sure do, especially with the holidays fast approaching. It’s always fun to add a little shimmer and shine to your cards and envelopes.
This Watercolor set comes in a pretty gold-toned travel case, ready to add water and use and contains 12 beautiful translucent colors in Midnight Black, Shimmering Silver, Diamond White, Shimmering Pale Gold, Shimmering Gold Deep, Shimmering Summer, Shimmering Magenta, Shimmering Rose, Shimmering Lilac, Shimmering Blue, Shimmering Mint, and Shimmering Tropic.
To go with these paints, I also really like the American Crafts Paper Fashion ROUND Paint Brush Set 1 and Assorted Paint Brush Set 2. I use them both depending on what I’m painting. The round brushes come in sizes 2, 4, 8, and 12. The assorted includes a round in size 1, a Filbert in size 2, and two Shaders in sizes 4 and 6.
PhotoPlay A2 CARDBOX Maker’s Series
How fun are these? Boxes to hold cards!! Each kit comes with a decorative edge hinged box, 3 cards, and envelopes. The box comes all in one piece, prescored, lays flat and is ready to dress up with stamps, dies, and pattern papers. These boxes come in Black, White, and Kraft.
I think they make a great holder for giving a set of handmade cards or to give to a friend with crafty supplies.
We hope you have enjoyed this month’s installment of Did You Know?! Tune in again next month for a brand new edition of this fun series!

I have purchased MANY different left handed scissors, and have always been disappointed. I just might give these a try since they are from Tim Holtz and he always puts a lot of research and testing into products with his name on them.

FINALLY! A product for me that I don’t have to turn upside down to use! Why hasn’t the world woken up for us lefties? Super happy for the scissors – now if Tim actually read my note about the Glass Media Mat – he’d get my $$! :)
