December Scrapbooking Layout Idea
Hi bloggers!! Please welcome a guest writer on today’s blog, Christine Ousley! We’re thrilled to share with you this exclusive & beautiful inspiration for scrapbookers with the use of the December Card Kit! Enjoy!———————————————————————————————————————–
Hi, it’s Christine here on the blog today and I would like to share with you a Christmas layout that I made with my Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit. I love stretching my supplies and so after making a few special cards with the kit, I decided that I would really love to have a Christmas layout with the lovely Pink Paislee City Sidewalks holiday paper.
Most of the time when I create a layout I usually cut up my patterned paper so the 8×8 pieces were actually super easy to use. I just layered the papers on kraft paper for the look I wanted, cut away a bit here and there, and I had my layout base ready to go.
Next, it was time to embellish my layout. There was a vertical seam between the striped and snowflake paper that I wasn’t happy about so I adhered my ribbon over the seam and tied the ends in a knot. That gave me a place to hang my tag and use the holly leaves. I love the dimension that the holly leaves and the BasicGrey wax seals give to my layout. They were fun embellishments in the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit that I might not normally use on a layout, but, that is what I love about kits. There are always bits and pieces of fun things that you might not think to use.
My favorite part of the whole kit is the Simon Says Stamp Merry Everything clear stamp set. The sentiments are beautiful and I love the font for the handwritten ones, but what impresses me the most about Simon Says Stamp’s exclusive stamp sets is how well they stamp. They stamp like a dream. I just peeled them off the acetate sheet, put them on a clear block, inked them up with my Memento Tuxedo Black Ink pad, and stamped. I got a crisp, clear image every time. If you haven’t used the new Simon Says Stamp stamp sets, I would highly recommend them! They are top quality photopolymer and made in the USA.
Well that’s all from me today. Hopefully I have helped you look at your Simon Says Stamp Card Kit in a new way. It’s not just for card makers anymore!
Happy Holidays to all!
