Crafty with Caly: Threaded Rainbow Card

Hi friends! Happy Sunday!! Please join me in welcoming the amazing Caly Person back as a special guest in our Crafty with Caly blog series! Read on and be sure to watch the video for more info! Enjoy!

Hi, Friends! I have a fun card to share using thread in rainbow colors!  I was inspired by Aheba Williamson (IG @creativeibby) who uses thread on her cards to make mine today and she gave me permission to share.

I cut an open window using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles die and used the cloud and its adorable face from the MFT Straight Up Rainbow Die-namics.  Too create a protective barrier for my thread, I added acetate to my window.

The fun part happens when I begin adding strands of thread to create my rainbow.  Be sure to check out the video!

To finish my card, I added a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Banner Greetings set and embellished it with some iridescent sequins.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will give it a try!  Thanks, Aheba for letting me use your fun technique on this card today! -Caly

  1. So clever using the thread like this! Love this card! Time to get out my embroidery floss box and see what kind of trouble I can get into! Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. This card was so unusual and loved how it came together. Surely, would bring a smile to the receiver’s face.
