It’s that time again… Friday where I show you another Simon Color Coordinate! This was bound to happen early on… one of my favorites because it’s neutral… and what a beautiful neutral it is…Khaki!

Copic Sketch Marker Brick Beige E31

This was an easy selection process for me, a neutral such as Khaki can go with so many things. I found product that you can mix and match with each other to make a variety of combinations.

Here’s a video of the walkthrough and a little explanation of my card. Enjoy!

Working with Khaki is a lot like wearing a well worn pair of jeans, goes with everything and they fit great! I chose to pull together muted colors of gold, and orange… just because they make me happy! I’ve created a little frame by using the Medium Tag Die backed with a piece of acetate and layering it with Happy Birthday.

I created loops of Hemptique orange cord to accent the Prima Flower. I also placed a few We R Memory Keeps enamel dots peeking out from the tag frame for a darker touch of color!  I also snuck in a couple little hearts by stamping the Love Languages stamp set with Khaki ink.

Oh did I ever enjoy this one.. love the combination of colors. The My Mind’s Eye Darling Dear paper goes perfect with the Khaki Cardstock. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as me. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Very pretty. Love the orange pop of color off the white and khaki. I think khaki is a great color to work with. Use it a lot. thanks for sharing.

  2. I’m really enjoying your color series–great ideas, lovely colors. Love the khaki look and pairing it with orange is so cool–reminds me of drinking rootbeer floats in my A and W mug in the summer.

  3. Love this color coordinates. It gives a feeling of warm and relaxation….summer sunsets while sitting on the sand. Love how you incorporated everything into the card.

  4. Another pretty card. Thanks so much for the helpful advice on color coordinates. I sure appreciate your help.

  5. Love the choices here, because khaki or kraft is one of my most favorite colors to use in creating my cards. Thanks for all the great ideas and it is helpful to see the colors you place together. I think choosing the color combinations is sometimes the hardest part of creating a card!

  6. mmm, love your khaki coordinates and how you summed up using them “working with Khaki is a lot like wearing a well worn pair of jeans, goes with everything and they fit great” :)

FABULOUS card, especially love the curves and addition of hemp cord behind the flower!!!
THANK YOU for sharing your creative inspiration!!!

  7. Shari, I can easily see why you are the creative directior for Simon Says because you are the best and creative cardmaker around. I first followed you on Paper Craft’s blog.

  8. I really enjoy the color series. I find it very helpful. The card is amazing. I just ordered the curve die and can’t wait to get it and put it to use.

  9. Always like your work. As one commenter said above, this card reminds me of A & W root beer. In a future card, would you please show how you made the flower with the hemp? Thanks.

  10. Delicious little card! Those Prima flowers in particular, are gorgeous(ly grungy) and I love your tip for lining the frame with acetate, to make adhering the delicate birthday greeting easier and more stable. Thanks for the links to all the products you used, too. Some going straight to my wish list.
