CASE Study 4th Anniversary Blog Hop!

4thanniversary

CASE Study is celebrating their 4th anniversary and we’re excited to celebrate with them this week!

To celebrate this great milestone, they’ve prepared a month of blog hops featuring their former muses and past & present design team members. In addition, they are offering fantastic prizes for those who join the blog hop and challenges where you can share your talents and creativity.

Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring the current blog hop that starts today, August 21st and goes until August 28th!

The blog hop participants are sharing their latest inspirations and how they translate them into their papercrafts, so I decided to play along! ;)

I have been really inspired by all of the ombre color designs that I’ve been seeing and wanted to use some yellows, oranges, pinks and reds to create a fun ombre sunburst for my card front. I diecut the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Sunshine from white cardstock and used it as the focal point and a mask to create the background.

I temporarily adhered the diecut piece over another piece of white cardstock, added the color with Distress inks over both pieces and then added a piece of vellum in between when I was done to mute the background color. I then went over all of the vellum parts with a clear Wink of Stella marker to give it that great sparkle and shine!

  4. You done good girl. Actually the card took my breath away. The color is right up my alley. The addition of the vellum is a brilliant idea (pun intended).

  5. This is stunning!! It actually looks as though there is a light shining behind the sun. Please, please tell me you made a video showing how you blended your colors and exactly which inks you used. I MUST copy this card!!!!

  6. Stunning! I love the bright colors. Who wouldn’t smile if they received this card…. it’s like a ray of sunshine!

  7. I really like the way the sun’s rays have glitter in between them to
simulate the sunshine. Such a pretty card, beautiful colors!
