Bright Ideas!
Hi readers! Happy Sunday to you! I hope you’re having a great weekend! Did you make a card yesterday for World Cardmaking Day? Today I’m pleased to welcome Wednesday Challenge Design Team member Cheiron Brandon to our store blog as a guest. She has some very BRIGHT ideas to share with us today!
Enjoy!
Don’t throw away those gelli prints! This card set started by taking a piece of paper that I had used on my gelli plate that turned out rather solid. I had pulled some prints through a stencil using Dina Wakley’s paints in turquoise, lime and lemon and this was the piece I used to “clean” the plate. I saved it and thought it would be a great background to use with the Mini Geometic Art Layers stencil. This stencil has so many fun shapes all in one place! I used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tools to dab more of the paint in blackberry, lemon, tangerine, ruby and magenta through the stencil (I used some scrap paper to make sure I was only getting paint on the parts I wanted to). To give the piece an added layer, I sprayed White Linen Dylusions through the Mini Positive stencil
Once my piece was dry, I cut it up into squares and mounted the squares onto a very thin black mat and adhered them to my card. I love the idea of making card sets and thought the Label Love set from Altenew would be perfect to bring the set together. I love the idea of creating sets with prints I have made. It’s like being able to send the recipient a tiny piece of art.
