Big You

close up

Hi readers! Happy Tuesday to you! I’m pumped to share this month’s SSS exclusive feature from Laura Bassen with you that has some seriously dreamy colors blended together to make such a beautiful and textured Birthday card for someone special. I think it’s also neutral enough that you could give it to a guy or gal, which is also pretty fantastic!

Enjoy!

  3. What a fantastic card!! I love it. Those balloons are so festive and I really like the way the colors blend. I also really like the stacked “You.” Perfect touch!

  4. THANK YOU Laura!!!
Your video is SO HAPPY and your card an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT – LOVE the ELEGANT design and the techniques you used, the colours blended together perfect and WOW – your “YOU” is SO CLEVER too!!!

  5. Just wanted to come back and say thank you so much for this video as I totally needed it! I was struggling with how to get that appearance of overlapping balloons to replicate the real thing and this video finally helped me to achieve that look. I am so excited that I finally know how to do it! Thank you so much!

  6. Awesome tutorial – very easy to follow and just love the colours and the final card!
    Well done Laura.

  7. Can I just say how much I love Laura Bassen’s cards? This is stunning and yet so simple! The new Simon inks are gorgeous!

  10. What a pretty card! I love the layered die cut sentiment and those balloons look so light and ethereal on the card they look like they could literally float away!

  11. I love how easy this card is, yet it looks difficult! I follow by email. The highlight of my mornings is watching card making blogs with a cup of coffee!

  12. Love the card – very pretty! I had to watch the video to see how it was done – so glad I did! I’m going to try this!

  13. Great job, Laura! I love that the card is simple but so eye-catching at the same time. The balloons overlapping the sentiment is wonderful.

  14. Cheerful and happy it sure is. And I was so happy to see that you did not actually make that entire card in only 3:57. You’re amazing… but not Wonderwoman ;)

  15. Who doesn’t like balloons! Thanks for a card that I can do quickly that will have a big reaction :)
