7th in our 2024 Art Journaling Series: A Halloween Twist
A few years ago, Stacy Hutchinson did this Spooky Moon technique for some cards and I was in awe! With the release of the recent Tim Holtz Sizzix Halloween dies, this technique came to mind once again and I was in the mood to spook!
Once I had my background made, I die-cut several items from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Fright Night die set. I used a variety of papers with different textures and shine.
These are the journal pages that I have made so far this year. I love the size and shape of these and will be using them as reminders of techniques, products, color combination, and themes.
To learn more about this technique, check out my video below.

This Halloween twist on art journaling is so inspiring! I love how Stacy Hutchinson’s Spooky Moon technique is making a comeback, especially with those Tim Holtz Sizzix Halloween dies. The combination of different textures and shine really brings the journal pages to life. It’s a great way to experiment with new techniques and themes.
