Art Journaling with Shari Carroll
Welcome to the blog everyone!! It’s Shari here with an art journaling inspiration for you using a Simon says Stamp slimline envelope as the base.
This journal is designed to give as a gift with lots of little places for the recipient to add their journaling.
I used a simple closure by sewing on a button from my stash and tying a long enough length of twine to wrap around the entire width.
I created a “signature” using cut papers, tags and envelopes, then sewed them in place with heavy thread.
I’ve added strips of paper that I folded and tucked into the pocket created from a die-cut tag.
Mini clips are perfect to hold paper trimmings stacked together for additional journaling.
I also used the Tim Holtz Media Marks thinlit dies to create a holder for another journaling spot and tag.

This is Beautiful!!! What a great gift idea!!!
This is a beautiful gift idea! I love that I have all the products on hand for it’s creation except for the slimline envelopes. I can remedy that! LOL! Thanks Shari!
Amazing as always!
Beautiful!
It’s pretty but, is it practical? Will you please tell me what ‘art journaling’ actually is? Are the journals supposed to be used for writing? Wouldn’t the loose pieces of cardstock/paper fall out and get lost? I’m sure I sound like a total idiot but somehow I missed the boat on the entire journaling craze!
Thank you,
Cathy
